• Designing, developing, and testing various types of machines, structures, and systems
• Using computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software to create blueprints and schematics
• Performing detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards and specifications
• Inspecting installations and observing operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
• Researching and analyzing data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
