WSP in Bengaluru, India is seeking System Assurance (SA)/RAMS Engineers to join our Rail and Transit team. You will collaborate with chief engineers and specialists across rail disciplines to ensure safety and reliability of systems in commuter rail, light rail, and subway projects.

The role offers opportunities to lead RAMS activities, develop execution plans, and advance technical leadership within a consulting environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–6 years demonstrated experience in SA/RAMS for rail industry.
  • Broad knowledge across rail engineering aspects with RAMS standards in at least one area.
  • Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in Consulting Engineering is an asset.
  • Familiarity with EN 50126/8/9 and IEC standards.
  • Strong communication, presentation and report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform SA/RAMS analysis including hazard analyses and operational safety.
  • Support RAMS planning and safety management system development.
  • Undertake hazard workshops and risk assessments.
  • Conduct reliability/availability modelling and RCA/FTA/ETA analyses.
  • Support RAMS activities and interface with multiple disciplines.

Job Description:

WSP is currently seeking System Assurance (SA)/RAMS (Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety) Engineers to join ourRail and Transit team, at ourBengaluru, India office. Reporting to the Systems Design Manager,the Systems Assurance Engineer will work collaboratively with a team of Chief Engineers and Specialists across rail systems disciplines (Systems Engineering, Signals, Electrification Systems, Data Communications, and Project Controls), Project Managers, Systems Engineers, Signals Engineers, Analysts, and Coordinators. This position will be responsible to undertake railway (commuter rail, light rail and subway) related engineering and operational assessment and analysis to provide assurance that all the systems under review are acceptably safe and reliable/available for rail operational service. As a member of the Rail and Transit team, you will be given opportunities to use your transferrable skills to define processes, create execution plans, and be the technical lead for some projects. You will be supported by management to develop work plans and professional skills to become a strong leader in the consulting environment

Responsibilities
  • Perform SA/RAMS analysis, including,Preliminary Hazard Analysis,Sub system Hazards Analysis,System Hazard Analysis, andOperations and Support Hazard Analysis;
  • Provide support for SA/RAMS Planning, including,Safety Management system development,Project Safety / RAMS plan development,Operational Safety / RAMS plan development,Safety Management System implementation;
  • Undertaking and checking of Hazard workshops;
  • Implementation and checking detailed analysis including,FMECA,FTA / ETA,Root Cause Analysis,Reliability / Availability modelling;
  • Support reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) activities.
  • Responsible foroperationalSafety Analysis andcompliance; including:
  • Assessment of operational safety across technical and operational processes;
  • Development and review of operational plans and procedures for safetyoperations;
  • Support Incident Management Planning and Investigation, as well as,Emergency and Crisis management process development and review;
  • Interface within the systems engineering disciplines (Track, Traction Power, Signal/Train Control, Communications, Integrated Control Systems,Signalling, Rolling Stock, etc.);
  • Interface with Structure/Station/Facilities/Tunnel in the railway environment;

Key Competencies / Skills:

  • Mandatory Skills
  • Minimum (3 – 6)yearsdemonstrated experience in SA/RAMS for a large organization, in the rail industry
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge across all rail engineering aspects and operations with specialist in RAMS standards and in at least one key area such as: Train Control/Signalling, Traction Power, Rolling Stock, Station Equipment, Communications, Track Infrastructure, Civil and Structures;preferably in Civil & Infrastructure domain
  • Proven ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams and across different business units
  • Experience in a Consulting Engineering environment is an asset
  • Experience in different Phases of the Engineering Design Life Cycle (Proposal, CDR, PDR, FDR) and familiarity with CENELEC, IECs and Systems Engineering standards such as EN 50126/8/9 .
  • Understanding of Systems Safety Engineering Concepts such as Hazard and Risk Analysis, proven experience in RAMS;
  • Understanding of Verification and Validation, and System Integration methodology/process;
  • Demonstrated success in a team environment, and leading a team;
  • Strong communication skills, presentation skills, and report writing skills.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience in rail systems.
  • 2 years of experience in systems engineering and safety assurance processes.
  • Industry chartership and membership of a relevant professional body will be highly regarded.
