Job summary

Lynx Software Technologies in India seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Coimbatore. You will automate Embedded Linux builds, integrate patches, and migrate board software to newer kernels.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years with Python and C, strong embedded knowledge, and excellent communication. We offer a casual workplace with open-source projects and varied, challenging assignments.

Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Coimbatore

What you will be doing

• Automate Embedded Linux building and testing.
• Integrate various software and security patches into build systems
• Backport key features/bug-fixes as needed by the customers to the distribution or Linux kernel of customers product line.
• Migrate board-specific software from older versions of the Linux kernel to newer versions
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
• Be the system-SW generalist and resolve any technical challenge through the right solution.

What We Need To See

• 2 to 4 years of experience developing software using Python.
• Proficiency in Python, C
• Embedded System basics.
• Good breadth of technical knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills
• Keen sense of urgency and drive for results
• Over and above, a deep commitment to your own quality work and a strong desire to help the entire team to succeed
• Attention to detail

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd

• Scripting and automation experience with Python, bash, or similar languages is a strong plus
• Experience with Embedded systems is a strong plus.
• Experience with one or more build environments such as Yocto, Buildroot, OpenEmbedded, and Android is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Python is a strong plus.
• Experience working with the open-source community to fix bugs, and add features is a plus.
