Job summary

Tringapps Research Labs in Chennai seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design and implement software for embedded MCUs. You will work on C/C++ projects across bare metal and Zephyr RTOS, developing bootloaders, firmware, and device drivers that interact with hardware.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, hands-on RTOS experience, and 6–7 years in embedded MCU development. You will collaborate with global teams and drive hardware-software integration and bring-up activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electronics or Computer Engineering with ~6-7 years in Embedded MCU development.
• Experience with boot loaders and firmware from semiconductor vendors, and board bring-up.
• Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills in Zephyr OS.
• Experience with RTOS, multi-threading and inter-process communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Handle software design and implementation covering full software development life cycle.
• Design and develop custom solutions in C, C++ on target platforms on bare metal and RTOS like Zephyr.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Handle Software design and implementation, covering complete software development life

cycle from requirement analysis and deployment

• Design and develop custom solutions in C, C++ on target platforms on bare metal as well as

RTOS environments like Zephyr.

• Develop and maintain low-level software components for Embedded MCUs including

bootloaders, firmware and device drivers that interact directly with hardware

• Work with different component vendors to get their standard/customized drivers integrated


• Understand hardware design/schematics, review and propose changes needed


• Unit testing for the modules developed or modified.


• Collaborating with teams globally, for development and with customers.


• Board Bring-up for MCU based hardware platforms (including customization/optimization) in a

fast paced manner with high quality

• Trouble shoot low level board bring-up issues between hardware-software e.g. crashes, wrong

pin/gpio config, device driver related issues including display drivers for LCD, touch panel,

wifi/bluetooth, sensors, CAN drivers, etc.

Qualification/Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Computer Engineering is required with extensive

experience (~6-7 years) in Embedded MCU based development

• Ability to work with boot loaders, firmware from semiconductor vendors, board bring-up and

application development expertise is a must on Embedded MCU based Zephyr OS

• Strong C, C++ programming skill


• Strong debugging skills, working with new/existing complex code base


• Hands on experience in RTOS, multi-threading and inter-process communication methods


• Understand/review hardware schematics, mindset and experience to identify problems early in

the product dev cycle, trouble shoot issues working closely with hardware team

• Familiar with professional software development processes and tools


• Excellent collaboration, written and oral communication skills to collaborate across and work

with different teams - hardware, device vendors, contract manufacturers, software and other

stakeholders across geo and troubleshoot issues or complete the bring-up

• Strong problem-solving skills


• Ability to work independently with little supervision


• Able to work in global environment, able to host international calls/group discussions.
