Most embedded jobs hand you one layer. This one does not. At Infra DigiTech the board is ours, the firmware on it is ours, the protocol between it and the nurse station is ours, and so is the dashboard the head nurse opens on her phone. You will work across all of it. Concretely, you will write firmware for the microcontrollers in our nurse call, queue management and GPS clock products; build and maintain the RF and LoRa links those products talk over; run a Raspberry Pi or a cloud service behind them where a customer needs reporting, dashboards or an integration with their HIS or ERP; design the databases that hold that data; and build the web and mobile interfaces people actually use. We have shipped more than 600 customised embedded products since 2001, and the reason we can say yes to an unusual requirement is that every layer is in the same building. You will be one of a small engineering team, working directly with the Director of Technology and with the people who fabricate and assemble the products a floor away — and you will see something you wrote running in a hospital.
Employment type: Full-time
Experience: 2 to 4 years
Preferred Location: Bengaluru
CTC: ₹4,50,000 - ₹7,50,000 / year
Key Responsibilities
Firmware & Hardware
- Write, test and maintain embedded C / C++ firmware for microcontroller-based products - calling units, nurse-station controllers, display drivers and clock modules.
- Develop and debug on Arduino IDE and equivalent embedded toolchains.
- Build and deploy Raspberry Pi based gateways, controllers and edge services - this is a core part of the role, not an occasional one.
- Work with our PCB and hardware engineers from schematic through bring-up, and debug at the bench with a scope and a logic analyser when a board misbehaves.
- Implement low-power design in firmware - our products use multiplexed LED drive and ripple blanking rather than direct drive, and that discipline lives partly in code.
Wireless & Connectivity
- Build and tune the wireless links our products run on - LoRa on the licence-exempt 865 MHz band, long-range RF with frequency hopping, Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
- Implement and harden communication protocols across RS-485, TCP/IP, MQTT and Modbus, including retry, acknowledgement and self-healing mesh behaviour.
- Diagnose real-world RF problems: a signal that carries in the lab and dies in a hospital basement is a firmware and topology problem as much as a radio one.
Data, IoT, Cloud & Integration
- Design and maintain the databases behind our products - schema, queries and migrations for device telemetry, call logs, response-time reporting and audit records.
- Build the cloud-connected side of our products: telemetry, remote monitoring, reporting services and alerting.
- Design and consume REST APIs, and build integrations into customer systems - hospital HIS and EMR platforms, banking back-office systems, and PLC / SCADA on the factory floor.
- Work with cloud services for hosting, storage, messaging and device management.
Web & Mobile Applications
- Build the dashboards and admin interfaces that sit on top of our products, in JavaScript and a modern framework (we use React and Next.js).
- Build and maintain the mobile applications our users carry - nurse mobile access, escalation and alerting.
- Own the whole path from a button press on a bedside unit to a notification on a phone, and make each hop reliable.
Ownership
- Take a product from requirement to release: architecture, firmware, database, backend, interface, testing and documentation.
- Support deployed installations when engineering input is needed, and feed what you learn on site back into the product.
- Keep the code and the documentation in a state the next engineer can pick up.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
Must Have
- 2 to 4 years building embedded or IoT products in a professional setting.
- Demonstrable firmware work in C or C++ on a microcontroller platform.
- Hands-on Raspberry Pi experience - you have built and run something real on one, not only experimented.
- Database experience with at least one of SQLite, PostgreSQL or MySQL: you can design a schema, write the queries and reason about what happens as the table grows.
- Practical experience with at least one wireless technology - LoRa, RF, Wi-Fi or BLE.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and at least one modern web framework.
- Some hands-on cloud experience on any major provider. We care that you have deployed and operated something, not which logo was on it.
Good to Have
- Mobile app development (React Native, Flutter or native).
- REST API design, MQTT or other messaging systems.
- PCB design, or hardware debugging with a scope and logic analyser.
- Embedded Linux beyond Raspberry Pi.
- Exposure to healthcare, banking or industrial systems, or to any regulated environment.
Who This Suits
- Someone who wants breadth rather than one narrow layer, and is comfortable owning the whole chain.
- Willing to learn what you have not done before - nobody arrives knowing all of this, and we do not expect it.
- Able to debug methodically when the fault could be in the code, the database, the radio, the wiring or the building.
- Clear written and spoken English; you will write documentation and talk to customers' IT teams.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Bengaluru, and available for occasional site visits.
What We Offer
- CTC of Rs. 4,50,000 to Rs. 7,50,000 per year, based on experience and the interview.
- Provident Fund with the employer contribution matched to yours.
- Health insurance.
- Genuine end-to-end ownership - firmware, database, cloud and interface on the same product, which is rare at this experience level.
- A hardware company that builds its own boards, so you are never blocked waiting on a vendor to explain their own product.
- Direct working relationship with the Director of Technology and the founders; no layers between you and a decision.
- Products in daily use in hospitals, banks, airports and factories across India.
