Job summary

Johnson Controls in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Project Manager for Post Sales Design Support, leading design engineers responsible for IBMS and gas-based suppression systems, including fire detection systems.

The role requires reviewing specifications, preparing submittals, shop drawings, schematics and P&ID, with strong communication and coordination skills to ensure high-quality delivery and zero customer complaints.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of IBMS industry and 8–15 years design experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with timely delivery.
• Ability to work in a team and develop standard procedures.
• Experience with design process improvements and reducing engineering changes.
• Knowledge of firefighting systems (fire alarm, CCTV, security) and BMS.
• Python scripting and Windows software testing experience.
• High quality delivery with self-motivation.

Responsibilities

What you will do

In this role, you will be part of Post Sales Design Support as a Project manager managing the design engineers of the region, who deliver post sales design on IBMS & Gas Based Suppression system including Fire detection system.

How you will do it

• Review Technical specification of the projects to understand the project requirements.
• Preparation of technical submittal & Shop drawing for customer approval and execution.
• Preparation of schematics, P&ID, isometrics layout Knowledge in preparing hydraulic calculation, SOP, DDC schedule e.tc.
• Ensure execution of the projects with zero customer complaints
• Technical competency of all kinds of firefighting system like
  • Fire alarm & Public Address System
  • Security systems like CCTV, ACS & Physical security, Intruder alarm system.
  • BMS for GA & Shop drawings.
  • Gaseous system (FM-200, CO2 & Inert gas)
• Co-ordination with the Architects, Clients and Contractors at various stages of the project
• Demonstrate adherence to operational process requirements to drive efficiency

What we look for

• Engineer (Degree/ Diploma) Electronic/Electrical/Instrumentation
• Good knowledge on IBMS Industry
• 8 to 15 years of designing Expertise on IBMS.
• Strong Communication & Presentation Skills. Time bound delivery of project deliverables
• Developing good work practices & standard procedures to save time
• Minimizing number of Engineering changes
• High quality delivery
• Design process improvement Experience in Python Scripting and Windows SW application testing
• Ability to be a team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with detail as well as with general assignments
