Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical architectures, SCADA automation, and control‑system interfaces for GW assets.
- Minimum 5–10 years of direct electrical engineering experience in utility‑scale solar PV power plants or heavy electrical infrastructure. At least 2–3 years of focused experience handling solar SCADA, automation, PLC programming, or substation control systems. Exposure to large‑scale Indian solar parks (exceeding 150MW+ individual block size) is highly desirable.
- Provide field‑level electrical surveillance for Solar DC, AC, MV and SCADA/control‑system interfaces through installation completion, integrated testing and energization readiness.
- Verify installed electrical and SCADA/control‑interface works and supporting evidence; EPC/OEM performs design, software configuration, installation and testing; QA/QC controls quality records; and the Commissioning Engineer coordinates integrated energization testing.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect installation against approved drawings and ITP hold/witness points for modules/string wiring, DC cabling, SCBs/SMBs, inverters, IDTs, MV equipment and SCADA/PPC/RTU/control‑panel interfaces.
- Monitor MV cabling/OHPL interfaces, ACDB/ICOG/MCR/PSS works, earthing, lightning protection, metering, protection, SCADA communication, I/O and control‑system interfaces.
- Check cable routing, tagging, termination workmanship, torque/termination records, fibre/communication connections, signal/interface schedules, test‑pack readiness and punch closure.
- Witness allocated electrical and SCADA/control‑interface checks, including communication readiness and alarm/interlock/data‑point verification, and report deviations or incomplete evidence to QA/QC and Commissioning teams.
- Coordinate electrical and SCADA/control‑system workfront releases and interface issues with Civil, Design, Commissioning and Construction Management resources.
- Maintain field observation and electrical completion status for assigned areas.
Principal Client‑Facing Outputs
- Electrical surveillance/inspection records.
- Electrical and SCADA/control‑interface punch and completion‑status input.
- Test‑readiness and interface observation reports.
