Job summary

ETAP is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Data Exchange and Software Testing team in Delhi. You will execute data exchange activities with ETAP, external engineering systems, and third-party software, ensuring accurate mapping via CIM interfaces and validating data transformations.

The role requires knowledge of power system analysis and ETAP, plus hands-on testing, documentation, and collaboration with development teams to improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Power System Analysis and electrical engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience with ETAP or similar power system analysis software.
• Knowledge of software testing, data validation, troubleshooting, and defect management.
• Knowledge of Python, scripting, or test automation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support data exchange activities between ETAP and external systems and third-party software.
• Work with CIM (IEC 61970) and other interfaces; ensure accurate data mapping.
• Analyze data quality issues and validate data transformation into ETAP.

ETAP Data Exchange, Software Testing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and support data exchange activities between ETAP , external engineering/GIS systems and from various third party software like EasyPower, SKM, PSS/E, DigSilent, CYMDIST , AutoCAD and AVEVA
• Work with industry-standard data formats and integration standards such as CIM (IEC 61970) and other relevant interfaces .
• Analyze customer source data, identify data quality issues, and ensure accurate mapping and transformation of data into ETAP.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, technical documentation, and investigation reports.
• Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and investigation of data exchange issues.
• Support development, testing, and enhancement of ETAP adapters and data exchange workflows.
• Work closely with development/R&D teams to identify and resolve integration-related issues.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and data validation testing of ETAP software modules and new features.
• Develop and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Validate ETAP functionalities against technical requirements and customer use cases.
• Identify, document, and track software defects with appropriate technical details and supporting data.
• Perform verification of bug fixes and ensure that reported issues are properly resolved.
• Support testing of new ETAP releases, enhancements, adapters, and data exchange functionalities.
• Contribute to improving testing methodologies, automation, and overall product quality.

Essential Requirements

• To be eligible for this position, you should have:A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related discipline recognized university or institution
• Minimum 1-2+ years of working experience in a similar industry or equivalent Strong understanding of Power System Analysis and electrical engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience with ETAP or similar power system analysis software.
• Knowledge of software testing, data validation, troubleshooting, and defect management. Knowledge of Python, scripting, or test automation is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation.
