Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Pune, India office to contribute to electrical design for industrial water projects, including WTP/WWTP and pumping stations.

You will develop electrical designs, perform calculations, and prepare BOQs while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Proficiency with ETAP and AutoCAD is desirable; offshore travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have electrical design experience for industrial water sector projects (WTP/WWTP/pumping stations).
• Experience in developing electrical design calculations and layouts.
• Proficiency with ETAP and AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day tasks include concept to detail design, tender development, or construction-level electrical design support.
• Design experience in water sector projects for heavy industrial and utility capital schemes.
• Develop electrical designs per client requirements and project scope.
• Carry out electrical calculations using various design tools and sizing of electrical equipment.
• Review vendor submittals and prepare design deliverables and BOQ documents.
• Prepare design basis reports and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline engineers and CAD/BIM technicians for drawings.
• On occasion travel offshore or to client sites for coordination.

Primary Purpose of Job:

Stantec is a leader in global infrastructure, water resource development and works in the Buildings, Mining, power & dams and Oil and Gas sectors providing engineering design and remediation, program management and technology solutions for the markets of North Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.

Stantec is looking for Electrical Engineer to be based in the Pune, India office who can contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec Resource Net India Private Ltd by providing design expertise in specialist areas of electrical systems related to Industrial Water Sector(WTP/WWTP/Pumping stations etc.). To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading-edge programs and projects.

Support project managers/team leader by providing technical and drafting expertise to ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and Stantec expectations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Day to day tasks include concept design to detail design development, tender development and or construction level of Electrical design and assistance for the Project and multi–Discipline Engineers. Coordination with regional leads.
• Design experience in Water sectors (WTP/WWTP/Pumping stations etc.) for heavy(Power industry/ Process Industries/Manufacturing) industrial and utility capital projects.
• The engineer will be responsible for development of electrical design as per the client needs and requirements.
• As an Electrical engineer, it should be expected that the engineer will be responsible for development of electrical calculations using different design tools and software, electrical equipment sizing’s and various electrical layouts etc.
• Experience in Power system modeling and analysis such as short circuit analysis, Arc Flash studies, electrical power system grounding studies etc. using ETAP software.
• Prepare design deliverables and schedule, technical specifications, design basis report, scope of work and BOQ documents.
• As an Electrical engineer, it should be expected that the duties will be flexible, providing design assistance for multiple projects.
• Work as a team member to coordinate and to produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD of design projects with professional engineers and other CAD/BIM technicians.
• Hands of experience to understand process and instruments drawings (P&ID).
• Understanding of the Vendor submittal drawings and documents and its review.
• Experience in the development of electrical services proposals and engineering estimates
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management.
