Lead Electrical Engineering scope within the projects independently and drive project challenges to ground, by utilizing solid technical solutions. Responsible for the development of technical solutions and standards for project/customer specific features on electrical engineering topics, and for quality control of all deliverables within the scope of electrical engineering. Executing tasks related to Fluence’ safety KPIs.
Apply comprehensive knowledge to prepare and supervise the development of key project deliverables, including specifications, datasheets, electrical load list, one‑line diagrams, protection and metering schemes, equipment layouts, conceptual studies and calculations, and relay coordination calculations.

Responsibilities
- Become fully familiar with the project contract, scope of work, basis of design, specifications, schedule, and all inter‑discipline requirements.
- Report to and coordinate with the electrical engineering lead, project engineering manager, project manager, and electrical department manager.
- Assist and coordinate with electrical engineers and designers, and maintain close coordination with other discipline engineers and the client’s engineer.
- Carefully evaluate, communicate, and manage change with full awareness of project impact.
- Prepare estimates for bid proposals, including technical query reviews, execution statements, and work‑hour estimates, identifying software requirements and any other project‑specific requirements.
- Perform FEED verification and gap analysis reports at the early stage of the project.
- Prepare, review, and as Lead Engineer approve discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications, data‑sheet reports, and procedures.
- Participate in finalizing deliverables lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance with specifications and functional integrity.
- Attend project kick‑off and review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings, and site surveys as required.
- Provide technical solutions and assist other discipline engineers and designers to make suitable technical decisions related to project technical challenges.
- Attend 3D model reviews, safety workshops, constructability reviews, and client meetings.
- Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them to proceed with their deliverables.
- Assist in procurement engineering activities, including preparing, reviewing, and as Lead Engineer approving requisitions, evaluating technical quotations, preparing queries, compiling bid tabulations and recommendations, and coordinating with procurement to expedite vendor documents.
- Review and as Lead Engineer approve vendor and subcontractor technical submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary.
- Review and as Lead Engineer approve design verification through single‑discipline check and inter‑discipline check.
- Keep the discipline manager and project management team apprised of all activities and concerns, technical, budgetary, and manpower related.
- Check final subcontractor and vendor data manuals to ensure that all requested data have been received and approved.
- Review and as Lead Engineer approve electrical system studies and calculations, including ETAP, PowerFactory, PSCAD.
- Participate in FAT and inspection and prepare and resolve punch lists for major electrical equipment.
- Assist construction and commissioning engineers in solving site issues.
- Capture lessons learned and log them into the Fluence Lessons Learned system.
- Assist and guide assigned engineers and coordinate with project lead designers for engineering and design deliverables, including quality check lists and audit readiness.
- Develop communication and presentation skills, including presenting design solutions and knowledge sharing sessions to the team.
- Travel throughout EMEA and internationally.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 8‑9 years of relevant work experience designing power systems for utility installations, PV plants, and battery storage systems in the EMEA region.
- Expertise in electrical system design, system studies, relay coordination, protection & control, grounding practice, HV and LV, design, and study.
- Expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for high‑voltage systems, wind, solar, or conventional power generation.
- Expertise with applicable codes, standards, and regulations used in the EMEA region.
- Strong technical skills and experience in finding solutions to complex technical issues.
- Expertise in procurement engineering (RFI, TQ, technical bid evaluation).
