Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Vadodara, Gujarat, seeks a Designer Electrical to translate customer requirements into robust power transformer designs. You will participate in quotation, order design, and documentation while aligning with project KPIs and manufacturing plans.

The ideal candidate has a BE/B.Tech in Electrical engineering with 2+ years in power transformer design, plus CAD knowledge (Creo/Magnet). English fluency and standards familiarity are expected.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical or higher with 2+ years in electrical design of power transformers.
• Exposure to 2D/3D CAD tools for transformer design.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/BIS/DIN/ISO standards is preferred.

Job description

1. Overview

• Job Title: Designer Electrical
• Reporting to: Electrical Engineering Manager
• Mission statement: To comprehend customer requirements and deliver product design & engineering meeting timelines according to customer specifications and assigned KPIs

2. Main Accountabilities

• Design & Engineering Tasks
• Design & Engineering Tasks (Power Transformers)
• Understand customer requirements during quotation stage and after project receipt.
• Follow engineering process to create order designs and documents, keeping project cost in mind while fully aligning with customer specifications.
• Perform design verification using engineering tools, standards, and customer requirements.
• Compile organize and archive documentation for assigned projects.
• Proactively identify risks and mitigate in solution concept stage in consultation with Manager.
• Align with manufacturing plan to deliver design specifications and create requirements in ERP.
• Actively participate in Design review meetings before finalizing detailed engineering solutions.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D FEM applied to electrostatic/electromagnetic simulation is preferred.
• Using latest technology and tools, optimize and adopt innovative design solutions employing best practices.
• Plan and monitor assigned projects consistently achieving related KPIs.
• Possess knowledge of Indian and International Standards & Codes – IEC, IEEE, BIS, DIN, ISO for electrical design related aspects of power transformers and shunt reactors.

3. Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• B.E / B.Tech (Electrical) / M.E/M.Tech/M.S( High Voltage or Power System or Electrical Machines) with 2 year or more years of industry experience in Electrical designing of Power Transformers.
• Basic understanding of Power Transformer design
• Preferred to have knowledge and exposure to 2-D and 3-D CAD software packages like Creo/MagNet or similar.
• You have the interest and ability to work with cross competence topics.
• Having experience of working on optimization and cost saving projects utilizing alternative materials, processes, and solutions.
• You have good communication skill and are fluent in English (both written and spoken).
