Job summary

L&T Heavy Civil Infrastructure in Chennai is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical layouts, MV/LV schematics, and specifications aligned with project requirements. You will select materials, perform load analyses, and ensure compliance with international and local codes.

You will collaborate with CAD/BIM teams, prepare BOQ/RFQs for tenders, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated electrical systems across the project.

Qualifications

• BE with electrical engineering background and relevant project experience.
• Experience in designing MV/LV layouts and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with IEC/IS/BS/NEC/IEEE and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical layouts and MV/LV schematics per project requirements.
• Prepare BOQ and RFQs for electrical systems.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop, fault currents, and short-circuit analysis.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, firefighting, and instrumentation engineers.
