Job summary

Persistent is seeking an Elastic Search Engineer to join the Engineering team. The role requires 7–14 years of experience, mandatory Elasticsearch certification, and hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

The position involves client-facing consulting, enterprise search deployments, and GenAI/RAG initiatives. Candidates should have a strong background in distributed systems, high-throughput search architectures, and hybrid cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Active Elastic Certified Engineer certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years in Consulting Architect or equivalent senior IT role.
• Experience in Elastic core domain including Elastic Security, Observability, and Enterprise Search.
• Strong consulting history delivering professional services in complex enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, networking, security, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying Elastic solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior Architectural/Consulting lead for Elastic core projects.
• Deliver Enterprise Search and Search Analytics solutions at architectural and program levels.
• Fine-tune relevance, scaling, indexing, and performance for large Elasticsearch deployments.
• Lead projects involving GenAI, RAG, vector embeddings, and semantic search platforms.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to articulate technical solutions and business value.

We are looking for candidates who have experience in Elasticsearch development and also has mandatory Elasticsearch certification. Also, candidates with experience in Docker and Kubernetes to work into the Engineering team.

What You’ll Do:

• Minimum of 8 years as a Consulting Architect, Senior Technical Consultant, or equivalent senior IT functional role working into Elastic core domain.
• Elastic Certification: Required Active Elastic Certified Engineer certification is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years as a Consulting Architect, Senior Technical Consultant, or equivalent senior IT functional role.
• Consulting History: A strong history of working as a consultant delivering professional services engagements in complex enterprise environments.
• Domain Expertise: Solid experience in deploying solutions using Elastic core domain: Elastic Security (SIEM/Endpoint), Elastic Observability (Logs/Metrics/APM), and/or Enterprise Search.
• Experience in solving complex technical search problems in terms of relevancy, scaling, performance fine-tuning, building a platform to handle high query throughputs and indexing throughput, benchmarking clusters to achieve optimal performance.
• Experience in leading and delivering Enterprise Search projects at both the architectural and program level.
• Experience in GenAI, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector embeddings.
• Deep understanding of distributed architecture including application, database and systems.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with on-prem systems and/or major public/private cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Expertise You’ll Bring:

• Active Elastic Certified Engineer certification with strong hands-on Elasticsearch expertise.
• Strong experience in Elastic Security (SIEM/Endpoint), Elastic Observability, and Enterprise Search implementations.
• Proven expertise in search relevance tuning, cluster scaling, indexing optimization, query performance tuning, and benchmarking large-scale Elasticsearch environments.
• Experience architecting and delivering Enterprise Search and Search Analytics solutions.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search platforms.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, application architectures, databases, and infrastructure platforms.
• Experience deploying and managing Elastic solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments.
• Technical Depth: Hands-on experience in Linux, networking, security, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation.
• Programming/Scripting: Experience utilizing programming or scripting languages in a corporate environment (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go).
• Communication: Exceptional customer advocacy, relationship-building, and presentation skills. Proven ability to lead and articulate technical solutions and business value to stakeholders, including C-level executives.
• Travel: Ability and willingness to travel to client sites periodically as required for project success (up to 60%).
• Work Style: Comfortable working effectively in a highly distributed and remote team, spanning multiple global time zones.
• BS or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
