Mercor is seeking a Senior Economics Research Expert for a remote contract role. You will evaluate AI-generated economics content to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs, with at least two years in top institutions and a PhD in Economics.

This four-week minimum engagement requires independent, asynchronous work and 10+ hours per week. You will develop evaluation rubrics, provide structured feedback to AI teams, and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure coverage and quality.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in economics research at top institutions (e.g., World Bank, IMF, Fed).
• PhD in Economics is required.

Compensation: $150-$200/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: Minimum four weeks
Commitment: 10+ hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI-generated content in Economics to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs.
• Review complex economic content for alignment with domain principles and methodologies.
• Provide clear, structured feedback to AI research teams to improve training data quality and downstream performance.
• Develop evaluation rubrics and benchmarks for assessing AI-generated economic tasks and solutions.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency, relevance, and coverage across datasets.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• At least 2 years of experience working for top institutions, leading economics research (e.g., World Bank, IMF, Fed, Graduate Schools).
• PhD in Economics.
