Job Description

An Echo - TMT Technician is responsible for assisting with echocardiography and treadmill stress-test services under appropriate clinical supervision. The includes patient preparation, equipment setup, image or ECG acquisition, monitoring, documentation, equipment maintenance, and coordination with cardiologists and clinical teams.

• Prepare patients for echocardiography and TMT examinations.


• Verify patient identity, investigation requests, and relevant clinical information.


• Explain procedures and provide appropriate patient instructions.


• Prepare and operate echocardiography and TMT equipment according to training.


• Assist with transthoracic echocardiography examinations as assigned.


• Assist with electrode placement and ECG monitoring for TMT.


• Position patients correctly for diagnostic procedures.


• Acquire and record required echocardiographic images and measurements as directed.


• Record baseline ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, and other required parameters.


• Monitor patients during treadmill testing and report symptoms or abnormal observations promptly.


• Operate treadmill equipment according to approved testing protocols.


• Assist cardiologists during diagnostic examinations and stress testing.


• Ensure appropriate emergency equipment is available during TMT procedures.


• Maintain accurate diagnostic records and documentation.


• Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues.


• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of diagnostic rooms and equipment.


• Follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures.


• Coordinate with cardiologists, nurses, and other diagnostic staff.


• Participate in quality-control, audits, and accreditation activities.
