Job summary

Workplace Options in Bengaluru is seeking an EAP Counsellor. You will engage with participants via phone, video, chat and email, delivering compassionate short-term counselling and crisis support while ensuring confidentiality.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology, 1–3 years of direct client contact, and fluency in English. We offer comprehensive benefits and an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Counselor or Psychologist with accompanying Master’s degree.
• Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counseling or mental health services (post-qualification).
• Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
• Training in mindfulness or solution-focused counseling an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide single-session telephonic counselling and crisis support while maintaining client confidentiality.
• Assess clients thoroughly to determine suitability for short-term counselling.
• Assess and manage high-risk calls and work with individuals at risk.
• Refer clients to internal or external resources as part of a holistic approach.
• Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
• Maintain clear clinical and administrative documentation in the case management system.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

What you will do:

Our EAP Counsellors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email all while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for.

Responsibilities:

• Provide single session telephonic counselling, in-the-moment support and crisis telephonic management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client-confidentiality.
• Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling.
• Assess and manage high risk calls and working closely with individuals at risk.
• Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
• Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
• Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system.
• Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Counselor or Psychologist with accompanying Master’s degree.
• Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counseling or mental health services (post-qualification).
• Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
• Training in mindfulness or solution-focused counseling an asset.
