Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven and analytical E-commerce Category Manager to oversee and optimize the performance of a specific product category. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, market trends, and consumer behavior. This role is responsible for the end-to-end category management process, including strategy development, product assortment, vendor relations, pricing, and promotions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer data, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage the product assortment and lifecycle for the assigned category, including new product launches and the discontinuation of underperforming items.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and promotional support.
  • Oversee pricing strategies and promotional plans to optimize profitability and maintain a competitive market position.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, supply chain, and product teams to enhance product visibility, improve customer experience, and ensure seamless execution of plans.
  • Prepare and present regular category performance reports to senior management.
  • Ensure accurate and compelling product content, including listings, descriptions, and images, to improve conversion rates.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in the E-commerce industry preferably E-commerce startups, merchandising, or a similar role within an e-commerce or retail environment.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and profitability within a product category.
  • Expertise in working with e-commerce platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with vendor management and building collaborative business relationships.
