Job description

PATH is a global nonprofit advancing health innovations for the people who need them most. With 50 years of experience, a global team of experts, and trusted partnerships spanning 70+ countries, PATH turns breakthroughs into better health for millions every single year.

The project aims to demonstrate a digitally enabled, private provider-led model for expanding access to Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) eligible beneficiaries seeking care in the private sector. Implemented in selected high-burden geographies in Mumbai, Maharashtra under NTEP stewardship, the model will integrate virtual TPT services, standardized digital screening and follow-up workflows, mobile diagnostic services, and doorstep delivery of TPT medicines to strengthen beneficiary identification, screening, treatment initiation, adherence, and completion. Leveraging existing national digital platforms and engaging private providers, NTEP teams, and other service providers, the initiative will generate implementation evidence to inform potential adaptation and scale-up through routine programme mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a focal point for project implementation in assigned districts of Mumbai, coordinating with District TB Officers, Senior Treatment Supervisors (STS), and Ni-kshay operators.
  • Support introductory and regular review meetings with District NTEP officials to formalize district-level technical support and develop operational plans aligned with state priorities.
  • Conduct private provider mapping including mapping of private and public health facilities treating at-risk persons and facilitate training and readiness of the facilities in the project districts of Mumbai. Conduct in-person or physical visit to these facilities and support in formalization of engagement with private providers through on-site clinical induction.
  • Coordinate deployment and operationalization of the TPT clinic protocol as outlined under the project.
  • Oversee coordination with diagnostic service providers including portable digital X-ray teams, IGRA/NAAT laboratories, ensuring timely scheduling, sample collection, result reporting, and linkage to TPT initiation.
  • Monitor TPT drug supply chain at district level, tracking stock positions at facility level, coordinating drug refills with NTEP supplies, and troubleshooting supply disruptions.
  • Support and coordinate with the project staff in routine TPT implementation, eneficiary enrollment, package handover, and monitoring delivery success rates.
  • Mobilize private providers to participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions, arranging local travel support and ensuring attendance.
  • Conduct supportive supervision visits to assigned TPT clinic hubs on a monthly basis using standardized ODK-based supervision checklists.
  • Coordinate daily operations across TPT Clinic Managers in assigned districts, troubleshooting field-level challenges related to tele-consultation, diagnostics, drug dispensing, and beneficiary follow-up.
  • Support data validation by cross-checking facility records with Ni-kshay entries and project MIS data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring corrective data entry.
  • Monitor district-level KPIs including clinic operationalization, tele-consultation reach, beneficiary screening rates, diagnostic utilization, TPT initiations, and adherence tracking.
  • Support in the project expansion under the guidance of the project lead as outlined in the project activity plan with transition and skill transfer to PPSA and district staff.
  • Document district-specific learnings, challenges, and best practices for adaptive management and knowledge sharing.
  • Undertake extensive travel (approximately 70-80% time) within assigned Mumbai districts for facility visits, supervision, and coordination meetings.
  • Submit regular updates to Project Lead on district operations, challenges, and achievements.
  • Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

The position requires extensive travel within assigned Mumbai districts (approximately 70 - 80% time) for facility visits, supervision, and coordination with NTEP and private sector stakeholders.

Required Experience
  • Postgraduate degree in Public Health/Health Administration/Social Sciences/Medicine or equivalent from a recognized university in India.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in public health program implementation, of which at least 1-2years should be in TB elimination programs at district or fi eld level.
  • Experience in coordinating with district health systems, NTEP officials, and private sector providers.
  • Strong understanding of NTEP guidelines, TPT cascade, Ni-kshay operations, and TB care pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage fi eld operations, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Familiarity with digital health tools, tele-consultation platforms, and mobile data collection systems (ODK).
  • Good analytical skills with ability to review data, identify gaps, and support corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with government officials, private providers, and field staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple activities, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed records.
