Tata Consulting Engineers invites a seasoned Head of Civil to lead all civil and structural engineering activities on a major project in India. You will oversee foundations, TG deck, boiler structures, chimneys, and associated infrastructure, ensuring constructability, safe execution, and timely handover.

The role requires a minimum of 22 years in large industrial or infrastructure projects, a BE in Civil, and postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering or Construction Management is

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering or Construction Management will be an added advantage.

Mansioni

• Lead and manage all civil and structural engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
• Oversee construction of large foundations, piled and raft foundation systems, TG deck structures, boiler foundations, chimneys, cooling water systems, ash dyke, and allied infrastructure.
• Review engineering designs and drawings to ensure constructability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Develop and optimise construction methodologies, execution strategies, and sequencing plans to achieve project milestones.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless structural interfaces and work-front availability.
• Monitor contractor performance, construction quality, productivity, and adherence to safety requirements.
• Identify project risks, construction constraints, and interface challenges, implementing mitigation measures to minimise delays.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct periodic project reviews and provide progress updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
• Drive resolution of technical issues related to foundations, structural systems, and civil infrastructure works.
• Support site commissioning requirements by ensuring timely completion and handover of civil facilities.

Purpose & Scope of Position

The Head of Civil shall be responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and control of all civil and structural works associated with the project. The role will oversee major civil infrastructure, including foundations, turbine generator (TG) deck, boiler structures, chimney systems, cooling water (CW) systems, ash dyke, roads, buildings, and associated infrastructure. The incumbent will ensure constructability, optimise execution sequencing, and drive safe, quality, and timely completion of civil works.

Experience

Minimum 22 years of experience in execution of large industrial, thermal power, or infrastructure projects.

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering or Construction Management will be an added advantage.
