Felix Hospital is looking for an accomplished and visionary Director & Unit Head – Orthopedics & Joint Replacement to lead and develop the Orthopedics & Joint Replacement Centre.
The role combines clinical leadership, unit development, surgical excellence, team building, academic development, and business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the unit as a centre of excellence for comprehensive orthopedic and joint replacement services.
Provide clinical leadership for the Orthopedics & Joint Replacement unit.
Perform and supervise complex orthopedic and joint replacement procedures.
Develop standardized clinical pathways, protocols, and treatment guidelines.
Ensure high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and outcomes.
Lead multidisciplinary management of complex orthopedic cases.
Promote evidence-based and ethical clinical practices.
Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the Orthopedics & Joint Replacement unit.
Build a comprehensive Joint Replacement and Advanced Orthopedics Centre.
Develop specialty services including primary and revision joint replacement, trauma, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and complex orthopedic reconstruction, as applicable.
Introduce advanced surgical techniques, technology, and clinical programs.
Work with hospital leadership to develop infrastructure, equipment, OT capacity, and support services.
Recruit, mentor, and develop consultants, surgeons, fellows, and clinical support teams.
Build a high-performing multidisciplinary orthopedic team.
Establish clear clinical responsibilities, protocols, and performance standards.
Conduct clinical meetings, case discussions, morbidity & mortality reviews, and quality initiatives.
Promote continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.
Develop strategies to grow orthopedic and joint replacement volumes, revenue, and market presence.
Build referral networks with physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, physiotherapists, sports organizations, and other healthcare providers.
Develop outreach and community programs to strengthen the Orthopedics brand.
Support corporate, insurance, and TPA relationships related to orthopedic services.
Monitor patient volumes, procedures, revenue, realization, and overall unit performance.
Identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency.
Ensure excellent patient experience throughout the treatment journey.
Establish systems for monitoring clinical outcomes, complications, readmissions, and patient satisfaction.
Drive quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
Promote academic activities, clinical research, workshops, CME programs, and conferences.
Encourage publication, presentations, and evidence-based clinical practices.
Develop fellowship/training opportunities where appropriate.
Position Felix Hospital as a preferred centre for orthopedic education and advanced surgical training.
Strong expertise in Orthopedics & Joint Replacement.
Excellent clinical and surgical leadership.
Experience in complex and revision joint replacement preferred.
Strong team-building and people-management capabilities.
Business acumen with the ability to develop a specialty service line.
Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder-management skills.
Commitment to clinical excellence, ethics, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
Ability to work closely with hospital leadership and cross-functional teams.
MBBS with MS/DNB in Orthopedics or equivalent recognized qualification.
Fellowship / advanced training in Joint Replacement / Arthroplasty preferred.
Significant experience as a senior orthopedic consultant with proven expertise in joint replacement.
Previous experience in a Unit Head, HOD, Director, or equivalent leadership role will be highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in building and scaling orthopedic/joint replacement services.
