Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices Bengaluru seeks a Director for Embedded X86 SOC Pre-silicon Emulation and Post Silicon Validation. Lead emulation, bring-up, and feature enablement with cross-functional teams to ensure silicon quality.

You will design validation tests in C/C++, mentor teams, and drive automation to accelerate verification on hardware/ex emulators. Strong problem solving and JTAG-based debugging are essential.

Qualifications

• SoC and ASIC validation experience with pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon validation.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python or Perl.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Experience writing validation test plans and diagnostics.
• Ability to bring up and debug systems on various platforms using JTAG.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Experience building automation suites and test frameworks.

Director - Embedded X86 SOC Pre-silicon Emulation / Post Silicon Validation

Core responsibilities

• SOC Emulation – Lead the pre-silicon emulation and work closely with SOC design teams to validate the new silicon features
• Silicon bring‑up – Lead the initial bringing up of new silicon and work closely with software and firmware teams to support their work
• SOC Feature Enablement – Work with IP and SOC Design to define the enablement sequence and define specs
• SOC Electrical and Functional validation – Validate the SOC for functional and electrical correctness
• Cross‑functional collaboration – Work with design, verification, and software teams to resolve problems and meet project goals
• Test development and execution – Design, develop, and execute validation tests in C/C++ to functionally test the silicon on physical hardware or emulators
• Debugging and root‑cause analysis – Use lab equipment like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers to debug issues, root‑cause silicon failures, and verify fixes
• Automation – Develop and build automated test suites and validation frameworks to improve efficiency
• Reporting – Report on project status and provide feedback to the architecture and design teams

Required skills and experience

• System‑on‑Chip (SoC) and ASIC validation – Experience with SoC architecture, pre‑silicon emulation, and post‑silicon ASIC validation
• Programming – Proficient in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python or Perl
• Lab equipment – Hands‑on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators
• Test development – Experience writing and reviewing validation test plans and developing directed, random, and pseudo‑random diagnostics
• System integration – Ability to bring up and debug systems on various platforms using tools like JTAG
• Problem‑solving – Strong analytical and debugging skills to find and resolve complex issues
• Automation tools – Experience with creating and building automation suites and test automation tools
