As one of the Directors of Product at Serko, you will oversee the development of platform shared services that creates the foundation for all of our travel product offerings. You will be responsible for setting and executing the product strategy and roadmap for those services in close collaboration with the Director of Engineering, Platform. In addition, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver exceptional products that meet customer needs and drive business success downstream from the platform delivery. It is expected that you will deliver AI-native platform services that will fuel Serko’s most modern agentic products – as such, you will be expected to align and collaborate with other Directors of Product who will rely on the platform to make their product experiences come to life. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate high levels of technical acumen and have a demonstrated track record of building world-class technology platforms (or similar shared technology services).

What you’ll do

Platform Product Strategy and Roadmap

• Closely collaborating with key stakeholders including Directors of Engineering for Platform, and Directors of Product of Serko's travel Products.
• Translates business strategy and product requirements into scalable, reusable capabilities that evolve shared services into a strategic asset.
• Independently anticipates future needs to drive operational efficiency and company-wide innovation with critical inputs from Directors of Product of Serko’s travel products.
• Sets clear goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Curates and sequences the platform roadmap by balancing validated travel product demands with strategic priorities.
• Manages trade-offs between resourcing and platform investment.

AI Innovation

• Implements modern technologies into platform product designs to ensure Serko’s products are at the forefront of technology solutions for customers, including AI-native experiences.
• Leverages data and insights to drive continuous improvement of product delivery for platform.

Stakeholder Communication

• Collaborates with product, technology and commercial (Revenue) peers to ensure platform delivery is aligned to company delivery, customer expectations and customer success.
• Communicates effectively with stakeholders, including executives, customers, and partners, to ensure alignment, support for product initiatives and report progress of platform delivery.
• Presents platform product strategies, roadmaps and updates to senior leadership, influencing decisions with compelling data insights.

End-to-End Product Management

• Delivers world-class platform products that fuel e-commerce experiences for the corporate travel industry, from customer-facing tools to supply-side aggregation and partnerships with 3rd party plugins.
• Oversees the entire platform product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards, while quickly and effectively solving any faults.
• Drives an AI-first platform agenda, ensuring infrastructure is designed to natively support model-driven and agentic product experiences (real-time inference, orchestration, and scalable data pipelines) as a default, not an add-on.
• Raises the bar on velocity with precision, embedding experimentation, automated testing (including model validation), and continuous delivery practices that enable rapid, confident shipping of AI-powered features.
• Owns the evolution of infrastructure as a direct product enabler, delivering scalable, observable, and governed systems that accelerate AI product delivery while meeting enterprise standards for reliability, security, and trust.
• Acts as a bridge between strategic and tactical execution, knowing when to zoom out to empower teams and when to zoom in to remove blockers.

Collaborative Development

• Partners with cross-functional teams to drive customer outcomes from discovery to launch.
• Collaborates with other product teams to develop compelling value propositions that drive product adoption and revenue growth.

Performance Metrics and Optimization

• Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure platform product success, impact on business objectives, and product adoption.
• Uses data-driven insights to optimize performance and inform strategic decisions in the most effective products to achieve Serko’s business objectives.

Leadership and Mentorship

• Fosters a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages data-driven decision-making, creativity and continuous improvement.
• Acts as a mentor for other Product Managers across the company to support their ongoing professional development.
• Models AI-native principles in platform delivery encouraging the use and application of AI in platform product delivery.
• Mentor more junior product management staff, even in situations where no direct reporting lines exist, to ensure a continuous learning opportunity for our people.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Demonstrable experience in strategic product leadership, demonstrating success in both strategic planning and hands‑on execution in a high‑growth technology company building technology infrastructure and platforms.
• Ability to translate complex engineering constraints and architectural trade‑offs into clear product decisions and to translate travel product requirements back into technically precise platform inputs.
• Deep understanding of product management principles, methodologies, and best practices, especially for high-velocity product development of technology platforms and infrastructure.
• Experience in designing, building and optimizing API-first platforms and shared infrastructure to support e-commerce products with consumer-grade experiences on modern technologies (including AI agentic products).
• Hunger to learn new technologies and implement ever evolving technological advances into product design and development.
• Strong evidence of analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision making, experimentation in product development, utilisation of data and research to inform product strategies and optimize performance.
• Proven expertise in data-driven decision making that drives continuous improvement in product development.
• Strong commercial acumen and data-driven approach to decision-making and building products that drive business growth.
• Ability to balance long-term strategy with shorter-term tactical execution, ensuring both high-level vision and operational effectiveness.
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams as well as work collaboratively across disciplines in the business.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, capable of conveying complex ideas, analytical results and complex business problems to diverse audiences.
• Strong adaptability and resilience, adept at navigating ambiguity, working in uncertainty and driving results in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Experience in the travel tech industry is preferred, or a demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the business travel industry.
• Appetite to deeply understand the regulatory environment, the complex competitive landscape, and business trends of the evolving corporate travel industry.
