Job summary

Novartis India seeks a proven Enterprise Data Leader to define and drive the strategy, governance, and adoption of enterprise data products and AI-ready foundations across the organization. You will partner with business, architecture, governance, engineering, security, and vendors to scale data platforms and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in enterprise data, analytics, integration platforms, data products or digital platforms.
• Proven enterprise-scale architecture, platform transformation, and product leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in Data Mesh, Data Lakes, Lakehouse architectures, and AI-ready data foundations.
• Hands-on knowledge of data sharing frameworks, data marketplaces, data contracts, semantic layers, and governance.
• Experience managing governance, privacy, security, risk, and regulatory compliance in large organizations.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technology, governance, and executive teams.
• Experience with modern data ecosystems including Databricks, Snowflake, and GenAI/AI-ML technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise data product, data sharing, and platform strategies aligned with Data Mesh and Lakehouse principles.
• Lead platform innovation across Data, Analytics, Integration, GenAI, and automation technologies.
• Establish AI-ready data foundations with metadata, quality, lineage, and contracts.
• Drive data sharing and interoperability through data marketplaces and governed exchange architectures.
• Ensure governance, compliance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements in platform operations.
• Build partnerships with business and technology stakeholders to translate investments into outcomes.
• Drive adoption and value realization of data products through enablement programs and metrics.
• Sponsor continuous improvement and vendor ecosystem management for reliability and cost efficiency.

Partner across business, architecture, governance, engineering, security, and vendor ecosystems to scale enterprise data foundations and industrialize innovative platform capabilities, products, and accelerators.

About The Role

Major Accountabilities

• Define and execute enterprise data product, data sharing, and platform strategies aligned with Data Mesh, Lakehouse, AI, and enterprise architecture principles
• Lead platform innovation initiatives across Data, Analytics, Integration, GenAI, Agentic AI, Semantic Layer, Knowledge Graph, and automation technologies, driving incubation and industrialization of reusable capabilities.
• Establish AI-ready data foundations by enabling metadata management, data quality, lineage, observability, semantic context, and machine-readable data contracts.
• Drive enterprise data sharing and interoperability through data marketplaces, zero-copy sharing, federated access models, semantic standards, and governed data exchange architectures.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and risk management across data, analytics, integration, and AI platforms, embedding security, privacy, audit, and regulatory requirements into platform operations.
• Build strategic partnerships with business and technology stakeholders to align priorities, shape demand, guide roadmaps, and translate platform investments into measurable business outcomes.
• Drive adoption, evangelization, and value realization of enterprise data products and platform capabilities through stakeholder engagement, enablement programs, and performance measurement.
• Lead continuous improvement and vendor ecosystem management to enhance platform reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, operational excellence, and innovation outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in Enterprise Data, Analytics, Integration Platforms, Data Products, Data Sharing, or Digital Platform environments.
• Proven experience in enterprise-scale solution architecture, platform transformation, product leadership, and technology innovation
• Strong expertise in Data Mesh, Data Lakes, Lakehouse architectures, Enterprise Data Products, and AI-ready data foundations
• Hands-on knowledge of data sharing frameworks, Data Marketplaces, Data Contracts, Semantic Layers, Knowledge Graphs, and federated governance models
• Demonstrated experience managing data governance, compliance, privacy, security, risk management, and regulatory requirements in complex organizations.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership experience across business, technology, governance, and executive teams within global matrix organizations
• Experience with modern data and AI ecosystems, including platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Collibra, Ataccama, Immuta, Reltio, Power BI, and GenAI/AI-ML technologies
