Job summary

RGBSI in Bengaluru, India invites a Dimensional Product Engineer with 6–12 years of vehicle dimensional experience to join its engineering team. You will coordinate datum schemes, perform GD&T analyses, and develop localization strategies for 2D/3D modeling using Catia or NX.

You will work with cross-functional teams including design, CAE, quality and manufacturing, ensuring dimensional objectives are met and documented, while driving continuous improvement and cost-saving ideas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any specialization.
• 6 to 12 years of experience in vehicle dimensional product engineering.
• Expert working knowledge of GD&T (ASME/ANSI/ISO).
• Proficient in CATIA and/or NX for 2D/3D.
• MS Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project.

Job description

Principle Accountability

Coordinate all datum schemes (locator logic) and assembly sequences required for 2D or 3D modeling.

Active participation in OEM/internal PDTs/Dimensional Review meetings.

Perform variation reduction and dimensional sensitivity studies and document.

Develops locator strategy documents.

Monitor and control the dimensional objective documents.

Identify Critical Characteristics and document drawings, based on analytical results.

Perform comparison studies of measured data versus objectives and GD&T specification MCR’s/Nom Shift/Tol Relief.

Research and analyze data such as RSS, specifications, component tooling tolerances to determine design feasibility.

Define and document quality goals (dimensional and functional) by developing quality objective targets on key product criteria.

Check and approve final released GD&T components and assembly drawings

Measurement point and fixture certification data generation.

Responsible for obtaining dimensional requirements for interfacing parts to develop system level analyses.

Work with inspection fixture suppliers to develop concepts, ensure fabrication of fixtures meet specifications and certify fixtures.

Purchased parts – responsible to provide dimensional approval for tool texturing authorization.

Participate in fit validation activities, root cause and define solutions.

Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing.

Develop and maintain timing plans as it pertains to dimensional engineering.

Establish effective communications (written and verbal) between customer, internal groups and suppliers.

Generate and implement cost savings ideas.

• Bachelor’s degree in any specialization
• 6 to 12 years of experience

Vehicle Dimensional Product Engineering experience: Minimum of 6 years’ experience. (ex: Instrument panels, door trim, floor consoles, garnish, etc).

Expert working knowledge of GD&T (ASME/ANSI/ISO).

Proficient at RSS stacks: roll up and roll down.

Energetic personality: Self-starter with a high passion for success.

Proficient in using Catia and/or NX: 2D and 3D.

Creative problem-solving skills: Work effectively with others.

Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project.
