Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a Digital Engineering Lead Engineer in Chennai to drive full lifecycle development of scalable applications. You will design and implement Java/J2EE solutions, mentor developers, and lead integration efforts across Kubernetes/OpenShift environments with Jenkins pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
• Experience with containerized platforms.
• OpenShift experience preferred; deploying services via Jenkins.
• Strong knowledge of Angular.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and writing stored procedures.
• Experience with messaging queues (IBM MQ, Active MQ).
• DevSecOps experience and creating Jenkins/ADO pipelines from scratch.
• Knowledge of SonarQube and JFrog vulnerability detection/remediation.
• Experience in production support and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of complex applications and architecture components.
• Lead a small group of developers in configuring, programming, and testing.
• Fix medium to complex defects and resolve performance problems.
• Be accountable for service commitments for in-scope applications.
• Monitor, track, and participate in ticket resolution.
• Mentor other developers in code reviews and best practices.

Once You Are Here, You Will:

The Senior Applications Developer provides input and support for, and performs full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). You will participate in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements. This position provides input to applications development project plans and integrations. You will collaborate with teams and supports emerging technologies to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. The Senior Applications Developer provides knowledge and support for applications development, integration, and maintenance. You will provide input to department and project teams on decisions supporting projects.

Job Requirements:

• Strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills
• Experience working in Agile methodology environment
• Experience in conducting code reviews
• At least 8 years of experience with the following technologies -
• Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs
• Experience working with the containerized platform
• OpenShift (preferred) - experience deploying services via Jenkins
• Strong knowledge and working experience with Angular
• Strong knowledge and working experience with relation databases like SQL Server, Oracle. Writing Stored Procedures, performance tuning
• Experience with Messaging Queues - IBM MQ, Active MQ
• DevSecOps experience
• Creating Jenkins and/or ADO pipelines from scratch
• Sonar scan and jfrog vulnerabilities detection and remediation
• Highly motivated to learn new technologies
• Highly experienced in troubleshooting issues, recommend interim and long term solutions
• Knowledge of integration and performance testing applications
• Experience with Production Support
• GCP Experience (good to have, not required)

Additional Responsibilities:

• Performs detailed design of complex applications and complex architecture components

• Fixes medium to complex defects and resolves performance problems
• Accountable for service commitments at the individual request level for in-scope applications
• Monitors, tracks, and participates in ticket resolution for assigned tickets
• Manages code reviews and mentors other developers

8+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, leading the development of highly scalable and resilient applications.

6+ years of experience of deep architectural experience with Spring Boot, including experience mentoring others in its best practices and advanced features.

4+ years of Angular

4+ years of leadership experience in adopting new technologies and frameworks, guiding best practices in development methodologies, and overseeing technical project management

3+ years of experience in messaging systems (Kafka).
