Job summary

Citi in India seeks a Digital S/W Engineer Intmd Analyst to contribute to AI-native software development across backend, frontend and cloud platforms, and to solve business problems with sound technical judgment.

You will work with Java (Spring Boot, microservices), Angular/React (TypeScript), Oracle/PostgreSQL, and AWS/GCP, applying CI/CD, Git, containers, and AI tooling to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java, proficiency in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Experience building RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Angular and/or React.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and component-based development.
• Experience integrating frontends with REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills including query optimization and schema design.
• Familiarity with cloud-native services, containers, and Kubernetes with exposure to AWS and/or GCP.

Job Overview

The Digital S/W Engineer Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typical deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Requirements:

AI-Native Mindset & Agentic Tools

• Ability to use AI coding agents such as Devin and Claude Code efficiently
• AI-native approach to software development and problem solving
• Comfortable integrating AI tooling into everyday engineering workflows

Backend – Java

• Hands-on experience with Java, p roficiency in Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Experience building RESTful APIs

Frontend – Angular / React

• Hands-on experience with Angular and/or React
• Proficiency in TypeScript and component-based development

Databases – Oracle / PostgreSQL
