Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect loose diamonds for size, shape, color, clarity, cut, make, polish and symmetry.
• Perform diamond assortment, grading, gauging, sizing and purity checks.
• Match diamonds for pairs and layouts to ensure uniformity.
• Identify and segregate stones with mismatches, inclusions, chips or cracks.
• Carry out packet marking, labeling, stock tally and verification.
• Maintain accurate QC stock and inventory movement records.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, setters and QC teams to move stones without discrepancy.
• Handle diamonds carefully to avoid damage or stock loss.

About the job

We are looking for a Senior Loose Diamond QC Executive with strong hands-on experience in loose diamond quality control, matching, assortment, and stock handling. The ideal candidate should be capable of checking loose diamonds as per quality standards, assorting stones by required parameters, matching diamonds for pairs and layouts, maintaining QC stock records, and supporting smooth coordination between QC & assortment team.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect loose diamonds for size, shape, color, clarity, cut, make, polish, symmetry, and overall appearance.
• Perform diamond assortment based on company standards, including grading, gauging, sizing, and purity check.
• Match diamonds for pairs, layouts, and jewellery production requirements to ensure uniformity and consistency.
• Identify and segregate stones with issues such as mismatch, inclusions, chips, cracks, abrasions, or other quality deviations.
• Carry out packet marking, labelling, stock tally, and verification for stones handled by the QC department.
• Maintain accurate QC stock records, assortment records, and inventory movement details.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, setters, and QC teams to ensure the right stones move to the next stage without discrepancy.
• Handle diamonds carefully to avoid damage, loss, or stock mismatch.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of loose diamond grading and assortment techniques.
• Good understanding of the 4Cs and the ability to evaluate clarity, colour, cut, polish, symmetry, and matching accuracy.
• Hands-on experience using loupe, microscope, gauge, weighing scale, and related grading tools.
• Ability to maintain inventory accuracy, stock records, and QC documentation.
• Strong computer knowledge for stock entry, record maintenance, and internal reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, patience, and team coordination skills.

Experience & Qualifications

For a senior profile, you can keep:

• 3 to 5+ years of experience in loose diamond QC / diamond assortment / matching / grading in a diamond manufacturing, jewellery, or trading company.
• Certification in diamond grading or gemology such as GIA or equivalent will be preferred.
• Candidates with experience in maintaining QC stock and supporting department-level inventory control.
