Job summary

The Hans Foundation (THF) invites applications for a contractual Dialysis Centre Technician based in Amritsar, Punjab. The role requires 3–4 years of dialysis experience, strong English and Hindi communication, and the ability to document and report patient data accurately.

You will maintain dialysis machines, monitor water treatment, and work with clinicians to ensure safe, effective treatment. Travel to remote areas may be required as part of outreach support.

Qualifications

• Min 3-4 years of experience in Dialysis Centre with good knowledge and skills.
• Fluent in English and Hindi; good documentation.
• Willingness to travel extensively in remote areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining dialysis machines and equipment.

• Sanitizing and cleaning the machine and surrounding area before and after dialysis.
• Monitoring water treatment and dialyzer reprocessing.
• Observing patients during treatment and addressing questions or concerns.
• Educating patients on dialysis and related processes.
• Collaborating with nurses and doctors to administer treatment.
• Documenting pre-dialysis specifications and patient vitals.
• Preparing patients and explaining the dialysis process to families.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

PROJECT OVERVIEW: HRCC

The Hans Foundation has been operating more than 75 Hans Renal Care Centers on self-Implementation mode since January 2022. HRCC intervention is an innovative model of healthcare delivery that could help alleviate health disparities among vulnerable populations and individuals with chronic Kidney diseases.

GENERAL

Reporting to: Assistant Manager - Programme

1. Duties and Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this position are as given below:

• Maintaining dialysis machines and equipment.
• Cleaning dialysis machines and equipment
• Sanitizing and cleaning the machine are the dialysis treatment has taken place.
• Sanitizing and cleaning the surrounding area of the machine before the dialysis treatment can take place, so that the patient does not get infected.
• Monitoring the water treatment.
• The reprocessing of the dialyzer.
• Observing patients during treatment to monitor for signs of medical emergencies. Assisting with any patient questions or concerns.
• Educating patients on dialysis.
• Making alterations to treatment to maintain safe application.
• Working with nurses and doctors to administer the correct treatment for each Explaining the dialysis process to patients and their families.
• Monitoring the vascular access of the patient.
• Teaching patients about additional health care to enhance positive dialysis results. Prep patients and give local anesthesia.
• Create written reports on patient progress for doctors.
• Participating in the quality improvement of the Centre.
• Taking good and efficient care of the patient.
• Document the pre-dialysis specifications, which are inclusive of the weight of the patient, the temperature of the patient, and the other vital signs of the patient.

Educational Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in Dialysis along with registration

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

• Min 3-4 years of experience in Dialysis Centre with good knowledge and skills.
• Good communication and documentation in English and Hindi
• Data analysis, reporting and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively in remote areas
