Godrej Industries Group (GIG) seeks a senior chemical/process engineering leader to drive new product development from lab to plant. You will oversee process design, scale-up, and technology transfer, collaborating closely with R&D, pilot plant, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, high-yield processes.

The role emphasizes cost reduction, safety, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.

Formación

• Masters in Chemical engineering or PhD.
• 15-18 years of experience in chemical/process engineering.
• Experience in process development, scale-up and tech transfer.

Responsabilidades

• Lead new product development through pilot plants and commercial transfer.
• Oversee process design, equipment sizing and safety for scale-up.
• Collaborate with R&D, Chemistry and Pilot Plant teams to ensure robust processes.
• Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to yield and efficiency.
• Support cost reduction and productivity initiatives across departments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• New Product Development: Demo trials at R&D & Pilot Plant, Basic data Generation, Material Balance., Technology transfer from R&D to Pilot Plant. - Technology transfer from Pilot Plant to Commercial Plant
• Preparation for System for new production at Pilot Plant & Commercial Plant: Commissioning of plant system for new Product & actual trial runs.
• Trouble shooting for new product. Data generation & recording for new product.
• Product Costing, Estimate New product production scheme.
• To engage in tech transfer activities and create technical content as a part of the technology transfer activities – PID’s, equipment mapping, Risk assessment reports, Batch production record, Process Flow diagrams etc.
• Perform engineering calculations to enable equipment sizing, equipment design and suitability evaluation
• Work and collaborate with Chemistry teams in the labs and the pilot plant and design and execution of experiments to ensure robust trouble-free processes are developed.
• Monitor products and processes on the shopfloor after they go live and identify trouble spots in new products and troubleshoot them effectively.
• Interact with various functions to ensure that tech transfer activities are performed smoothly, on time and with no errors.
• Take up initiatives to improve productivity and technical accuracy.
• Experience in Process Design, Scale up and commissioning of commercial plant.
• Analysis of different parameters for process improvements, Cost reduction based on plant performance
• Filling the gap between the target and the actual performance.
• Technical Services : Work as a link between the Planning group & Implementation group for better & effective Output.
• Existing product trouble shooting & trials to achieve the desire Yield, Raw material. Consumption, Quality.
• System development for Reducing Time cycle for Batch Operation. Identification & Implementation of modifications with different Unit operations to reduce cost, Time cycle, Improving Environmental Systems, Improving Plant Safety System.

• Implementation of Various Systems with the help of consultants. Recommend methods for improve/enhancing utilization of Equipment, material and Utilities.
• Assist for Statutory compliances. - Develop relationships across departments to deliver complete solutions throughout a products lifecycle.
• Reviewing concepts for commercial feasibility and making recommendations on capital as well as identifying potential project risks and create a path forward
• Serving as a liaison between R&D and manufacturing sites.
• Identifies opportunities for process standardization and improvements.Managing change across departments through collaboration and communicating business case. Partnering with Engineering and R&D to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and validation of new equipment installation.
• Review project – New project status with seniors.

Education

Masters in Chemical engineering/ Phd.

Key Skills

Should have knowledge in Process Technology

Should have worked for specialty fats, shortening margining, cocoa butter subsidiaries, cocoa butter equivalent.
