Job summary

Weekday 1 client is seeking a security-focused DevSecOps Engineer to build, automate, secure, and maintain modern cloud-native environments. You will integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle to enable reliable application delivery.

You will design and maintain DevSecOps practices, create secure CI/CD pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, implement IaC, and ensure security across compute, network, storage, and deployments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in DevSecOps or cloud security.
• Hands-on with cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD security controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement DevSecOps across the SDLC.
• Build secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintainDevSecOps practicesacross thecompletesoftware development lifecycle.
• Build and managesecureCI/CD pipelinesfor automated build, testing, security validation, and deployment.
• Deploy, configure, monitor, and secure applications and infrastructure onGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement cloudsecurity controls acrosscompute, networking, storage, applications, and deployment environments.
• IntegrateSAST, DAST, SCA, vulnerability scanning, secrets detection, and compliance checksinto CI/CD workflows.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
• Manage GCPIAM, service accounts, roles, permissions, secrets, encryption, logging, and security policies.
• Work with development teams to identify vulnerabilities and integrate secure coding and deployment practices.
• Support containerised and cloud-native workloads using technologies such asDocker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure, applications, security events, logs, and operational metrics.
• Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, networking, and security incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Establish secure and standardised deployment processes across development, testing, and production environments.
• Automate repetitive operational and security activities to improve engineering efficiency.
• Participate in securityassessments, architecture reviews, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure, security controls, CI/CD processes, and operational procedures.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 2+ years of experiencein DevSecOps, DevOps,Cloud Engineering, Cloud Security, or a relatedrole.
• Strong hands-onunderstanding ofDevSecOps principles and secure software delivery practices.
• Practical experience withGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Good knowledgeof GCP servicesincludingIAM, Compute, Storage, Networking, Logging, Monitoring, and security capabilities.
• Experience designing and maintainingCI/CD pipelinesand integrating security controls into deployment workflows.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, infrastructure automation, and configuration management.
• Hands-on experiencewithDocker, Kubernetes, Git,Linux, and scripting/automationis desirable.
• Knowledge of application security, vulnerabilitymanagement, dependency scanning, secrets management, andaccess controls.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, identity management, and least-privilege principles.
• Experiencewith monitoring, logging, alerting,incident management, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills withexcellentattention to security and operational detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively withdevelopers, security professionals, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders.
• Strong ownership mindsetwith a focus on improvingsecurity, automation, reliability,scalability,and cloud operations.
• RelevantGCP, DevOps, cloud, or cybersecuritycertificationswould be an advantage.
