Job summary

Freight Tiger in Gurgaon is seeking a DevOps Intern to join the Platform Engineering team. You will gain hands-on experience building cloud-native infrastructure on AWS using GitOps workflows, under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will automate provisioning with Terraform, package Kubernetes applications with Helm, manage deployments with ArgoCD, and help ensure cluster health with Prometheus while documenting changes and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Willing to work full-time from office in Gurgaon.
• Strong Linux/Unix fundamentals and CLI proficiency.
• Basic understanding of AWS core services (EC2/S3/IAM/VPC).
• Familiarity with Git workflows and version control.
• Basic Docker and Kubernetes concepts.
• Scripting ability in Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Assist in writing and maintaining Terraform modules for AWS infrastructure.
• Support GitOps workflows and automated deployments with ArgoCD.
• Package and manage Kubernetes applications with Helm.
• Monitor and improve cluster health using Prometheus.

About The Role

Core Responsibilities

• Cloud & Infrastructure as Code: Assist in writing and maintaining Terraform modules to provision and manage AWS infrastructure (EKS, VPCs, IAM, S3, EC2).
• GitOps & Continuous Deployment: Work with Git and ArgoCD to implement GitOps practices, automating application deployment and synchronization directly from Git repositories to Amazon EKS clusters.
• Kubernetes & Application Packaging: Help package, version, and manage Kubernetes application manifests using Helm charts.
• Monitoring & Observability: Assist in configuring Prometheus metrics, target scraping, and monitoring rules to maintain visibility into containerized applications and cluster health.
• Version Control & CI: Maintain clean, version-controlled repository structures (Git) for infrastructure blueprints and application deployment manifests.
• Documentation & Troubleshooting: Document infrastructure changes, assist with debugging pipeline or cluster issues, and update system runbooks.

What We Are Looking For

Must-Haves:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
• Must be able and willing to work full-time from the office.
• Strong fundamentals in Linux/Unix environments and command-line usage.
• Basic understanding of AWS Core Services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS).
• Familiarity with Git workflows (branching, pull requests, merging).
• Fundamental understanding of Docker and Kubernetes concepts (pods, services, deployments).
• Scripting capability in at least one language (e.g., Bash or Python).

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts using Terraform.
• Prior hands-on experience or coursework with continuous delivery tools like ArgoCD.
• Basic knowledge of Helm templating or Prometheus metrics scraping.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect – Associate certification (or working toward one).
