Job summary

TalentXO, a Mumbai-based HR-Tech startup, is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to build and scale cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.

You will manage production environments across AWS/Azure/GCP, implement IaC modules, and optimize release workflows while supporting development teams with reliability and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and networking, IAM, storage, compute.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes knowledge with experience in production deployments.
• IaC tooling exposure: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible; scripting in Bash or Python.
• CI/CD expertise with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Observability tooling experience: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog.

Responsibilities

Role Summary

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring systems. This role is suited for an experienced hands‑on engineer who can independently manage production environments, support development teams, troubleshoot operational issues, and contribute to secure, scalable, and reliable software delivery.

Infrastructure Automation & Cloud Operations

• Cloud Management: Provision, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using approved architecture and security standards.
• Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent IaC modules for repeatable environment provisioning.
• Automation: Write scripts in Bash, Python, or similar languages to automate operational tasks, reduce manual effort, and improve consistency.
• Pipeline Implementation: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Release Automation: Automate build, test, packaging, deployment, rollback, and environment promotion workflows.
• Developer Enablement: Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve deployment speed, pipeline reliability, and overall developer productivity.

Containers, Monitoring, and Production Support

• Containerization: Create and maintain Docker-based application deployments and support Kubernetes workloads in production or pre‑production environments.
• Observability: Configure monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerts using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Datadog.
• Incident Support: Investigate deployment failures, infrastructure issues, alerts, and production incidents; participate in RCA and preventive action planning.

Security, Documentation, and Process Improvement

• DevSecOps Practices: Integrate basic security checks, secret management, dependency scanning, and vulnerability remediation into pipelines and infrastructure workflows.
• Documentation: Maintain deployment guides, environment setup documentation, runbooks, and operational SOPs.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring issues, propose automation improvements, and help standardize DevOps practices across teams.

Essential Technical Qualifications

Category Must-Have Highly Desirable

• Cloud Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services, networking, IAM, storage, compute, and environment management. Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or equivalent.
• Containerization Strong knowledge of Docker and practical experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes workloads. Helm charts, Kubernetes troubleshooting, autoscaling, or service mesh exposure.
• IaC & Automation Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible; scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Reusable IaC modules, configuration management, and policy-as-code exposure.
• CI/CD Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Pipeline-as-code, automated rollback, approval gates, and deployment strategy implementation.
• Observability Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboarding tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Datadog. Exposure to SLI/SLO tracking, incident metrics, or DORA metrics.
• Networking & Security Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, SSL/TLS, firewalls, VPC/VNet, security groups, and access controls. Experience with secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and secure deployment practices.
