Finanshels.com is the UAE's leading tech-enabled accounting and tax platform, trusted by thousands of startups and SMBs across the MENA region. We combine automation, real-time financial insights, and expert finance professionals to help founders manage bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax, and compliance on a single platform. As we scale, we're investing heavily in building resilient, secure, and highly available infrastructure — and we're looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us get there.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud systems that power Finanshels' platform. You'll work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and fast to iterate on — all in a fintech environment where uptime and data integrity matter.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure to support production systems.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments across environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardize and automate provisioning and configuration management.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; set up alerting, logging, and observability tooling to proactively catch and resolve issues.
- Manage containerization and orchestration of services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to support scalable microservices architecture.
- Own incident response and troubleshooting for production issues, driving root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure, including access controls, secrets management, and vulnerability management.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve developer experience, deployment velocity, and system reliability.
- Manage cloud cost optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure scaling as the platform grows.
- Ensure infrastructure and processes meet compliance and data protection standards appropriate to a regulated financial services environment.
- Maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans for critical systems.
- Document infrastructure architecture, runbooks, and operational processes.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role managing production infrastructure at scale.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and core cloud services (compute, networking, storage, IAM).
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI).
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK/EFK stack).
- Solid understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, and security fundamentals.
- Experience managing relational and/or NoSQL databases in production, including backup and recovery strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience owning on-call/incident response processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in fintech, accounting, or other regulated/compliance-heavy industries.
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Experience with GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
- Exposure to serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
- Experience supporting data engineering or ML infrastructure (e.g., Airflow, Spark, model serving pipelines).
Why Join Finanshels

- Own critical infrastructure decisions with real impact on product reliability and scale.
- Collaborative, founder-led culture that values ownership, speed, and continuous learning.
- Competitive compensation and the opportunity to shape engineering practices at a scaling company.
