The candidate should progress from Software Developer to Tech Lead and into Development/Engineering Manager, bringing client management and delivery ownership. Experience in IT services is preferred, with emphasis on cloud, DevOps, APIs, and architecture discussions.

Qualifications

• Exposure to Gen AI, LLMs, RAG, AI Agents or AI-powered applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage software development teams across backend, frontend, QA and other technical functions.
• Provide technical direction and drive engineering best practices.

• Review designs and code; ensure coding standards and quality.

We are looking for a Development Manager with a strong software engineering background to lead development teams, drive technical solutioning, and work with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital and AI-powered products.

The ideal candidate should have progressed from Software Developer/Engineer → Senior Developer → Tech Lead → Development/Engineering Manager and combine strong technical expertise with team leadership, client management, and delivery ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage software development teams across backend, frontend, QA and other technical functions.
• Provide technical direction to engineers and Tech Leads and drive engineering best practices.
• Translate business/client requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive solution design, system architecture, API design, integrations and technology selection.
• Review technical designs and code; ensure coding standards, quality and engineering best practices.
• Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies and delivery challenges.
• Mentor engineers and Tech Leads and build strong technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, QA, DevOps and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements, explain technical approaches and solve complex problems.
• Provide technical estimates, resource planning and delivery inputs for projects.
• Own engineering execution across multiple projects, balancing quality, timelines and client expectations.
• Work with AI/ML teams on Gen AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, automation and AI-powered products.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, productivity and delivery.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software development/engineering experience.
• Strong career progression from Developer/Engineer to Tech Lead and Development/Engineering Manager or equivalent.
• Mandatory experience in IT Services / Software Services organizations.
• Strong knowledge of software development, backend technologies, APIs, databases, integrations and system architecture.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring software development teams.
• Strong experience in technical solutioning, system design and architecture discussions.
• Experience with code reviews, engineering standards and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Good understanding of cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, APIs and modern software engineering practices.
• Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI Agents or AI-powered applications.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Gen AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI and platforms such as OpenAI, Claude or other enterprise LLMs.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience managing multiple projects/clients in a services or consulting environment.
• Exposure to solution consulting, technical pre-sales or client solution discussions.
