As a Developer Advocate for AWS in Bangalore, you'll dive deep into AWS technologies, exploring how our services can solve complex operational challenges and drive innovation in the industry. From serverless architectures to container orchestration, from chaos engineering to observability solutions, you'll provide inspiration for reliability aware operations and development process with AWS. Your role will involve a mix of hands-on coding, content creation, and community engagement. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing demos, prototypes and delivering technical presentations showcasing AWS solutions for SRE and DevOps practices

  6. Traveling to events and conferences to represent AWS and share knowledge with the DevOps community
  7. Mentoring developers in implementing AWS solutions for complex operational challenges
A day in the life

Your day might start with a team standup to align on projects. You could then spend time developing a demo on AWS CloudFormation and Systems Manager, followed by writing a blog post about chaos engineering with AWS Fault Injection Simulator. In the afternoon, you might prepare for a webinar on container orchestration with ECS and Fargate, engage with the developer community on Stack Overflow, and explore new CloudWatch features for improved observability. Your role combines technical expertise, content creation, and community engagement to inspire and educate developers on AWS SRE/DevOps practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in SRE or DevOps engineering with modernized automation and operation (e.g. CI/CD, IaC, application performance monitoring, containers)
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with experience delivering technical content to developers of varied backgrounds.

- Comfortable with major programming languages for system engineering such as Go, Python, Java and so on
- Demonstrable experience engaging with developer communities, including creating technical content, public speaking, or active participation on platforms like GitHub, Stack Overflow, or developer forums.
