Job summary

Sanrachna Steel is seeking a Detailer to produce detailed steel fabrication and erection drawings for commercial and industrial projects in Bangalore. You will work closely with modelers and project managers to ensure accurate shop drawings using SDS2 software.

The role requires knowledge of AISC, AWS and OSHA/NISD standards, along with the ability to edit standards and manage document revisions. Permanent position with probation and placement in Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• 1–6 years of SDS2 steel detailing experience.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AISC, OSHA, AWS and NISD standards.

JOB TITLE - DETAILER

Profile Summary

The Detailer produces detailed drawings for steel fabricators and erectors. The Detailer prepares detailed plans, fabrication and erection drawings and other documents (columns, beams, braces, trusses, stairs, handrails, joists, metaldecking, etc.) used in the construction of commercial buildings, industrial plants, and various non-building structures. Requires knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and National Institute of Steel Design (NISD) standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work closely with Modelers/Checkers and Project Managers to prepare/submit fabrication and erection drawings for structural and architectural projects for commercial/industrial buildings
• Serve as a support analyst and operate detailing platforms such as SDS2,etc.
• Must comply with the requirements of the design drawings and all industry standards and protocols, such as those established by the AISC and AWS while complying with current OSHA and NISD guidelines
• Provide support in editing standards and/or company procedures which relate to steel detailing
• Must have experience and knowledge of existing engineering codes, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences
• Detailer will suggest solutions anywhere drawings have insufficient information, which are subject to the approval of the architect and structural engineer
• Conduct Document Control through revision by keeping track of changes during the drawing creation workflow
• Prepare approval, erection and fabrication drawings for projects using SDS2,etc.
• Accurately complete and check all necessary system input for finalization of fabrication and erection drawings, shop details, and Bill of Materials
• Communicate complex and technical application issues to non-technical parties verbally and/or written
• Ability to meet scheduled deadlines on a regular basis while maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality, and being able to manage multiple projects at once

Qualifications and Technical Competencies

• Bachelor’s/Diploma degree of civil or mechanical engineering is required - work experience in SDS2 may substitute as an equivalent to a Bachelor’s/Diploma degree
• 1-6 years of experience in steel detailing on SDS2 is a MUST
• Working knowledge of AISC codes, OSHA, AWS, and other industry standards is a MUST
• Strong experience in reading and interpreting structural/architectural design drawings
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and erection
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Basic mathematics including geometry and trigonometry
• Knowledge of welding specifications
• Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Google Workspace

• Shift Timings: 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Indian Standard Time
