Role Summary:

We are seeking a talented Desktop Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in developing Windows desktop applications using C#, .NET, WPF, XAML, and MVVM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining high-quality desktop applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, user-friendly, and performant solutions. This role requires the ability to work independently, contribute to technical discussions, and drive feature delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Windows desktop applications using C#, .NET, WPF, and XAML.
• Implement and maintain robust application architectures following the MVVM pattern and software engineering best practices.
• Develop reusable UI components and responsive user interfaces that provide an excellent user experience.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and development guidelines.
• Create and execute unit tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver project milestones.

Required Skills

• 4-6 years of hands‑on experience in software development with C# and .NET Framework/.NET.
• Strong experience developing desktop applications using WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation).
• Proficiency in XAML for UI design and development.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with the MVVM architectural pattern.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Experience with data binding, commands, converters, styles, templates, and resource dictionaries in WPF.
• Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience with source control systems such as Git or Azure DevOps Repos.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as MSTest, NUnit, or xUnit.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integration with backend services.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks and IoC containers.
• Knowledge of design patterns such as Factory, Singleton, Observer, and Repository.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, multithreading, and task-based programming.
• Familiarity with performance profiling and memory optimization techniques.
• Experience with installer technologies such as MSI, WiX Toolset, or ClickOnce.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Experience working with SQL Server and writing database queries.
• Knowledge of Prism, Caliburn.Micro, or similar WPF frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with logging and monitoring frameworks such as Serilog, NLog, or log4net.
• Exposure to automated UI testing tools and practices.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in BE/BTech, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing and supporting desktop applications using Microsoft technologies.
