Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Senior Designer in Bengaluru to partner with Design Directors on workplace interiors. You will drive design concepts, lead project teams, and ensure excellence from programming through construction documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical delivery, and client relationship management. The position requires a strong Revit skillset, 12+ years in commercial interiors, and the ability to balance design excellence with project realities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• 12+ years of related experience as an interior designer, with a focus on commercial interiors.
• Proficient in Revit; strong knowledge of FF&E, furniture systems, color and materials.
• Outstanding graphic presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and communicate design ideas quickly.
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp; 3DS Max preferred.
• NCIDQ preferred; licensure encouraged.

Your Role

What You Will Do

• Collaborate on commercial interiors projects, including programming client needs, concept design, schematic design, design development, and manage budget/schedule reviews
• Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents
• Participate in selection of furniture systems and specifications
• Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
• Utilize technical knowledge and delivery experience for effective documentation and detailing
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
• Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
• Manage client expectations, and coordinate team and consultant communications

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• 12+ years of related experience as an interior designer, with a focus on commercial interiors
• Must be highly proficient in Revit
• Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials
• Outstanding graphic presentation skills
• Willingness to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development
• Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp required, 3-D Studio Max preferred.
• NCIDQ preferred but not required; working toward licensure is supported and encouraged

Your Design Technology Qualifications

• Deep knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
• Experience in collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection.
• Deep understanding of Real-Time Visualization development within the context of BIM, specifically in the use of Escape/ other rendering mediums.
• Experience in creating FF&E schemes and developing them through detailed technical specification

Desirable

• Working knowledge in the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas for client presentations, consultant coordination and internal design reviews.
