Position Details

Position Title – Designer

Job Location – Daman, India

Role – Contractual

Position Summary

The candidate will be part of the Industrial Pumps ETO group Engineering team, supporting creation of 3D CAD models and Engineering drawings for various Pump projects and will be based in Coimbatore, India. He/She will work on the preparation of CAD documents namely models and drawings for different types of products namely Screw pumps, Centrifugal pumps and Progressing cavity pumps. In this position, the candidate will work with Global Engineering colleagues in Germany and India team to ensure an effective completion of deliverables, first time right and on time submission against target.

Expert proficiency in 3D modeling, assembly & 2D drafting using NX (Unigraphics) is mandatory.

Experience in Positive displacement and/or Centrifugal pumps is preferred.

Responsibilities

Break down information obtained from sketches, legacy drawings and Engineering guidelines and convert the information into models detailed drawings with section views and dimensions.
Create documents like 3D models, component and assembly drawings, in line with the Engineering guidelines/standards.
Update and standardise drawings to meet latest standards and engineering guidelines.
Self, Peer review & complete models and associated Manufacturing, Assembly drawings.
Document CAD package in SAP-ECTR (PDM interface), following the standard engineering guidelines.
Actively contribute and support Continuous improvement activities to reduce lead time of model and drg creation and increase productivity.

Candidate Requirements

Expert knowledge and hands on experience in 2D and 3D NX CAD (Part modelling, Drafting and Assembly) of cast, forged, welded and machined items.
Working experience in ERP and SAP-PDM systems. Preferred SAP and ECTR.
Familiar with standard engineering drafting practices.
Knowledge and experience to manage and document drawing changes/updates.
Understanding of various manufacturing processes namely casting, forging and machining and relevant manufacturing tolerances possible.
Good attention to detail and approach to achieve first time right.
Knowledge in MS Office applications.
Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Experience in communication with Global (US or Europe) clients is an added advantage.
Must be able to meet tight deadlines, be results oriented, highly organized, with sound judgment.
Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work in a cross-functional team.

Education & Experience

Diploma / BE degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Overall 3 to 5 years of experience with 2-4 years of experience using NX (Unigraphics) CAD is mandatory. Hands on experience in Modelling & drafting of Pump components is preferred.
