Job description

Job Description

As a Design House & Partner Ecosystem Manager, you will build and lead Microchip’s partner program with India’s design house ecosystem. Your mandate is to ensure Microchip’s semiconductor solutions are designed into products at the earliest possible stage by creating a sustainable partner ecosystem that multiplies Microchip’s business impact worldwide. This is a strategic program‑building role that blends technical depth, business development acumen, and ecosystem orchestration.

Program Strategy & Governance
  • Develop and own the India Design House & Partner Program, defining engagement models, partner selection criteria, co‑investment frameworks, and governance structures.
  • Map the design‑house ecosystem against Microchip’s product portfolio to prioritize program investments.
  • Establish a partner enablement framework that includes reference designs, evaluation hardware, FAE support, technical training, and co‑development opportunities.
  • Define, track, and communicate program‑level metrics such as influenced pipeline, design win activity, and partner engagement depth; report regularly to sales leadership and relevant business units.
Partner Recruitment & Relationship Development
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new design‑house and engineering services partners across India’s major design centres.
  • Build and sustain multi‑level relationships within partner organisations—from engineering leads to senior leadership—positioning Microchip as a strategic collaborator.
  • Develop joint partner business plans with key partners, establishing shared objectives, co‑investment commitments, and accountability for design win outcomes.
  • Maintain and deepen existing design‑house relationships, expanding Microchip’s product family representation and engineering influence.
Technology Seeding & Design Influence
  • Serve as the primary technical interface, driving Microchip silicon selection into partner designs at the architecture and component selection stage.
  • Engage partner engineering teams at a system‑architecture level to provide guidance across Microchip’s MCU, DSC, FPGA, power‑management, security, connectivity, and timing portfolios.
  • Collaborate with FAE teams and application engineers to co‑develop partner‑relevant reference designs, solution stacks, and technical enablement collateral.
  • Lead or co‑deliver technical workshops, product roadmap briefings, and hands‑on training programs tailored to partner engineering audiences.
Business Unit Collaboration & Market Intelligence
  • Act as the principal interface between India’s design‑house ecosystem and Microchip’s global business units, feeding structured, actionable feedback on partner needs, OEM trends, and product gaps.
  • Collaborate with product managers and application teams to align roadmaps, reference design priorities, and go‑to‑market initiatives with partner insights.
  • Coordinate with global key‑account teams when India‑based design firms develop products for Microchip’s global accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with product divisions, providing quantified feedback and ROI reporting on partner program investment, design win activity, and influenced pipeline.
  • Develop and execute partner business development plans, assess strategic risks, and drive plans to measurable outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Extensive travel within India to major engineering hubs; occasional travel outside India for partner engagements, business unit collaboration, and industry events.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel.
  • Experience working with design houses, engineering services partners, and global OEM programs.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Microchip’s FAE teams, business development managers, distributors, and design partners.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary and bonus aligned with company goals; employee stock purchase program; health insurance coverage.
  • Opportunity to build and own a high‑visibility strategic partner program with entrepreneurial scope.
  • Access to Microchip’s global technical resources, product teams, and business unit networks.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in business management.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in semiconductor industry (applications engineering, FAE, technical business development), or directly within a design house, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) firm, R&D organisation, or electronic system integrator.
  • Experience developing and managing partner, channel, or ecosystem programs, including governance frameworks, joint business plans, and outcome‑based metrics.
  • Solid technical grounding in embedded system design with competence across at least two domains (microcontroller/DSC, FPGA, motor control/power electronics, embedded connectivity, industrial/defense/aerospace electronics).
Competencies
  • Strategic and critical thinking, evaluating ecosystems and hypothesising partner needs.
  • Strong communication skills, effective in executive‑level conversations and technical workshops.
  • Technical credibility at the system‑architecture and component selection level.
  • Interpersonal influence, building consensus and driving outcomes.
  • Networking ability to connect with stakeholders across design houses and OEM partners.
  • Ownership and independent initiative, delivering results and managing complex mandates.
  • Workflow management, setting realistic, time‑bound objectives and prioritising multiple engagements.
