Job summary

Deloitte in Mumbai invites applications for a Deputy Manager in our Global Business Tax Team. You will engage with teams and clients to exceed expectations, conduct in-depth tax research, draft opinions and respond to tax matters, and support tax compliance and litigation processes.

You will also train junior staff, assist with tax technology assets, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to enable on-the-job work delivery. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• CA with 2–4 years of experience in Direct Taxation in Financial Services domain (Banks, NBFC, Financial Institutions, Private Equity).
• Strong technical knowledge in Direct Taxation, Corporate Income Tax, International Taxation.
• Leadership qualities and effective communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting on tax advisory matters with in-depth research on tax technical situations.
• Preparing tax opinions / short notes / email responses on day-to-day clients’ tax matters.
• Handling compliances such as filing tax returns, withholding tax statements and other tax filings.
• Assisting on tax assessment / litigation proceedings before authorities and appellate forums; drafting responses and representing clients.
• Training AMs and executives on professional development.
• Supporting clients with tax technology assets through licensing or managed services.
• Assisting in end-to-end tax operate engagements.
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders for on-the-job work requirements.

Your work profile

As a Deputy Manager in our Global Business Tax Team, you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations: -

• Assisting on tax advisory matters such as undertaking in-depth research on tax technical situations
• Preparing tax opinions / short notes / email responses on day-to-day clients’ tax matters
• Undertaking compliances such as filing of tax returns, withholding tax statements, advance tax, provisioning for income tax and other tax filings such as SFT etc.
• Assisting on tax assessment / litigation proceedings before the assessing officer, other income tax authorities and higher appellate forums. This will include drafting responses to audit notices & questionnaires, representation before the tax authorities for assessment, rectification, and other similar matters.
• Training AMs and executives on their professional development
• Assisting clients with tax technology assets through licensing and / or managed services
• Assisting clients on end-to-end tax operate engagements
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders and enabling areas for on-the-job work requirements.

Desired qualifications
