Job summary

SBI Card is seeking a Data Privacy & Compliance Lead to coordinate and monitor data protection across the organization in line with Indian data privacy laws. The role requires deep knowledge of privacy frameworks, risk assessments, and audit management.

You will partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure controls, training, and incident response meet regulatory requirements and drive privacy initiatives across functions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field.
  • Understanding of regulatory data privacy compliance; audit background preferred.
  • Knowledge of security controls from people, process and technology perspectives.
  • Experience with PCI-DSS, ISO27001 and audit management.
  • Familiarity with risk assessments and privacy frameworks such as GDPR and NIST.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor data protection compliance with SBI Card policies and procedures.
  • Review controls to inform and advise on privacy across the business.
  • Facilitate periodic data protection impact assessments.
  • Support data incident response and breach notification procedures.
  • Represent the team in internal and external audits and assessments.
  • Manage privacy-related projects and governance reporting.

Role Purpose

Responsible for coordinating, embedding and monitoring of data protection and privacy compliance in accordance with SBI card polices and procedures and applicable regulations.

Role Accountability
  1. Align business processes and operational practices, and support in preparation, maintenance and rollout data protection policies and procedures as per the Data Privacy act of India and any other Data Privacy law as applicable
  2. Review controls to inform, advise and issue recommendations to the business with regards to data protection, privacy including with data protection laws and internal policies and guidelines
  3. Facilitate periodic data protection impact assessments
  4. Support the data incident response and data breach notification procedures
  5. Support 1st line of defense (controllers/ processors) and Data Privacy officer(DPO) regarding data protection and privacy management requirements and policies as well as for communication for both data subjects (e.g. customers) and the regulatory authorities
  6. Promote continuous training to maintain data protection awareness and feedback, and also include protection
  7. Offer consultation once a data breach or other incident has occurred and must be involved in relevant issues in a timely manner and report directly to highest management level
  8. Participate and represent team in internal and External audits and assessments
  9. Manage privacy related projects including stakeholder update and drive timely and quality deliverables
  10. Monitor marketplace trends and latest experiences on security, audit and control issues
  11. Perform process documentation and compliance adherence
Measures of Success
  1. Timely and accurate development and monitoring of the Data Privacy program
  2. Setup and Increase the maturity of overall Data Privacy Program
  3. Timely and in-budget completion of data privacy related projects & Initiatives
  4. Timely delivery of project plans, milestone updates, presentations, assessment reports etc. to relevant stakeholders
  5. Process Adherence as per MOU
Technical Skills / Experience / Certifications
  1. Industry-standard certifications such DCPP (DSCI Certified Privacy Professional), DSCI Certified Privacy Lead Assessor (DCPLA),
  2. Understanding of regulatory data privacy compliance, Information security or audit background is must
  3. Understanding of security controls from a people, process and technology perspective
  4. Knowledge of standard security processes and guidelines
  5. PCI-DSS, ISO27001 and audit management experience
  6. Knowledge of risk assessments and privacy frameworks such as - NIST, DSCI, ISO, PCI, GDPR, etc.
