Job summary

Optum is seeking an Accountant responsible for financial statement preparation, month end close, and reporting. The role includes accruals, bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and support for statutory financial statements in line with relevant regulations.

• 3-6 years of experience in financial statements and month end reporting.
• Sound understanding of GAAP; knowledge of IND-AS and auditing.
• ERP experience with SAP/PeopleSoft and Excel; strong analytical and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage month end closing including accruals, prepaid amortization, cost allocations and payroll accounting.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and perform variance analysis (PL & BS).
• Support preparation of financial statements including balance sheet, P&L and notes per applicable acts/regulations.
• Maintain Fixed Assets accounting and registers per US GAAP, Companies Act, and Income Tax Act.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure correct accounting classification under local GAAP.

Job description

This role is primarily responsible for preparation of financial statements and reports, month end closing and reporting, account reconciliations, compliance in local tax and reporting requirements.

Requirement: Accountant (Preparation of Financial statements, Audit & compliances)

Job Description:

• Responsible for month end closing which will include accruals preparation, prepaid amortization, cost allocations and payroll accounting.
• Preparation of Bank reconciliation statements.
• Performing variance analysis (both PL & BS) and explanation (period-over-period actuals).
• Provide support to prepare financial statements including balance sheet, statements of profit and Loss and Notes to Accounts as per Schedule III of companies Act, 2013.
• Responsible for Fixed Assets accounting & maintenance of Fixed assets register as per USGAAP, Companies Act & Income Tax Act.
• Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications in accordance with local GAAP.

Experience & Skills:

• Qualifications – CA
• 3-6 years of experience of handling financial statements and month end reporting
• Sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, Knowledge of IND-AS, standard on auditing.
• Knowledge of ERP and SAP (Ex: PeopleSoft, Excel, etc)
• Analytical skills & an inquisitive mind, strong communication skills and documentation ability, detail oriented, self-motivated and ability to proactively work toward a goal
