• Coordinate with marketing team to understand market requirements and customer requests.
• Guide teams for analysis of customer requests and competitor samples.
• Oversee ADCs and Trade Labs for sample testing of yarn produced.
• Provide guidance for design, development, and implementation of new products.
• Drive feasibility studies for new projects and prepare budgets.
• Oversee development of prototypes and market introduction plan.
• Monitor safe operations in ADCs ensuring zero incidents.
• Identify training requirements and mentor team members.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Coordinate with marketing team to gain understanding of the market requirements, customer specific requests for new spandex products and customer complaints. Accompany the marketing team in key customer visits if required
2. Guide teams at Trade Labs and Application Development Centres (ADCs) to further analyse customer requests, complaints or competitor samples. Ascertain parameters that can be tested in house or through external agencies and guide the team to take the appropriate actions.
3. Oversee the activities of the ADCs and Trade labs for sample testing of the yarn produced in the plants to ensure achievement of quality and product parameters as per defined guidelines
4. Provide guidance and support for the design, development, refinement, and implementation of new products through extensive research
5. Drive feasibility study of the new projects taken to ascertain the technical capabilities and resources required to undertake the project and prepare budget for the research and development of new products
6. Oversee development of prototypes, experimentation results, trial manufacturing of the new products and develop a market introduction plan in coordination with marketing team
7. Monitor overall smooth and safe operations in ADCs and Trade labs and ensure achievement of zero incidents
8. Identify areas for skill development and training requirements for team members and coordinate with HR team to implement the same. Mentor team members, conduct performance appraisals as per HR process requirements
