Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical systems and utilities during shifts to ensure efficient operation and quick issue resolution.
• Oversee inventory of mechanical components and spares with accurate tracking and timely replenishment.
• Monitor pumps, compressors, and conveyors; troubleshoot to ensure equipment availability.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Address mechanical breakdowns swiftly and coordinate with teams to restore operations.

Job Purpose

The Shift Engineer - Mechanical manages mechanical equipment, executes maintenance activities, responds to emergencies, ensures safety, collaborates with stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement for optimal equipment performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical systems and utilities during shifts, ensuring efficient operation and swift resolution of issues to maintain continuous production.

• Oversee the inventory of mechanical components and spare parts, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment to support maintenance operations and minimize equipment downtime, while adhering to budget constraints.

• Monitor and control pumps, compressors, and conveyors for optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure equipment availability.

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency, following established protocols to identify potential issues and minimize unplanned downtime.

• Develop and implement maintenance plans for equipment. Optimize schedules and spare parts to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

• Address mechanical breakdowns swiftly to avoid production disruptions. Coordinate with teams to restore normal operations quickly.

• Follow safety protocols and conduct inspections. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

• Perform in-depth troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures on mechanical systems to identify root causes of failures, utilizing specialized tools and techniques to restore functionality and improve overall equipment performance.

• Work with production, engineering, and maintenance teams for equipment integration. Build relationships with suppliers and contractors to solve mechanical issues.

• Enhance equipment performance and reduce costs through new technologies and best practices like predictive maintenance.
