Job summary

Mangal Industries Limited in Tirupati is seeking a Deputy Engineer – Designs to join our product design team. You will develop cost-effective designs, create 3D models, and ensure manufacturability from concept to prototype.

You will use SolidWorks and CAD tools, coordinate with cross-functional teams, apply QMS, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and contribute to continuous cost reduction and BOM management.

Deputy Engineer – Designs

Job Description

We are looking for a Deputy Design Engineer with experience in product design, SolidWorks, and sheet metal components. The ideal candidate should be capable of developing cost-effective designs, supporting new product development, and coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Study customer drawings, product specifications, and design requirements.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies to ensure manufacturability and cost optimization.
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and prototypes using SolidWorks and CAD tools.
• Perform design validation and analyse prototype test results.
• Modify designs based on testing outcomes and customer requirements.
• Prepare and present project progress reports to stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for New Product Development (NPD) projects.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Apply APQP, PPAP, and PFMEA methodologies during product development.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and tooling teams for smooth product implementation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and cost reduction.
• Possess basic knowledge of sheet metal tooling and manufacturing processes.
