Role Description

The Dental Hygienist role at Opal Smiles Dental Studio is a full-time, on-site position based in Ahmedabad. The Dental Hygienist will perform routine preventive care, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, and assisting in the management of periodontal disease. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical and dental histories, taking digital X-rays, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and supporting dentists during clinical procedures. The role also involves documenting treatment notes accurately, maintaining infection control and sterilization standards, and ensuring a comfortable, reassuring experience for patients of all ages. Collaboration with the clinical team and participation in practice-wide initiatives to improve patient care and efficiency are integral to this position.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Dentistry and Dental Care, with the ability to provide high-quality chairside support and patient education.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Hygiene practices and Dental Prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and preventive treatment planning.
• Knowledge of Periodontal Disease assessment and maintenance, and experience assisting with non-surgical periodontal therapies.
• Recognized dental hygiene qualification or diploma, with valid registration or eligibility to practice as a Dental Hygienist as per local regulations.
• Commitment to strict infection control, sterilization protocols, and safety standards in a clinical environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Experience with digital dental equipment (e.g., digital X-rays) and basic computer skills for clinical documentation; prior work in a multi-specialty dental clinic is an advantage.
