Job summary

Acuity Analytics is seeking a senior C++ Software Engineer to maintain and enhance our in-house simulator written in C++. You will design features, review code, and contribute to high-performance software used across teams.

The ideal candidate has a 6+ year track record in C++ development, strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and experience on UNIX/Linux systems. You will work in a globally distributed team, communicate clearly, and own tasks from requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in C++ software development.
• Strong expertise in developing low-latency, high-throughput, and performance-optimized C++ code.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems programming concepts such as memory management, concurrency, synchronization, and I/O.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a C++ Software Engineer to maintain in-house simulator, which is written in C++.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new product features based on user requirements driven by code development/modifications.


• Conduct thorough code reviews and maintain comprehensive documentation.


• Investigate and resolve complex issues to provide L3 support for internal users through code analysis, debugging, and experimental validation.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.


• 6+ years of hands-on experience in C++ software development.


• Strong expertise in developing low-latency, high-throughput, and performance-optimized C++ code.


• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems programming concepts such as memory management, concurrency, synchronization, and I/O.


• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or later), with strong command of the Standard Template Library (STL).


• Practical experience working in UNIX/Linux development environments.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify efficient and scalable solutions to complex issues.


• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team environment.


• Ability to work independently, including gathering and clarifying requirements, interpreting business and technical logics, and driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision.


• Capable of articulating technical concepts, design decisions, and implementation logic clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while collaborating effectively across teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot) to improve developer productivity and code quality.


• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, or application development.


• Prior experience in the financial services is preferred, though not required.
