Job summary

24 Ventures, Bengaluru-based investment platform, seeks an Associate – Deal Investment Origination to source and evaluate promising startup opportunities. You will build relationships with founders and ecosystem partners, supporting the team with initial assessments and deal screening.

Qualifications

• MBA–Finance or equivalent required; CA/CFA preferred.
• Experience in investment banking, private equity, or venture capital is valued.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Proficient in market research and industry analysis.

Responsibilities

• Source and identify high-quality investment opportunities across sectors and stages.
• Build and maintain relationships with startup founders, investors, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.
• Network within the startup and investment ecosystem to generate a strong deal pipeline.
• Conduct initial screening and evaluation of potential investments.
• Meet with entrepreneurs to understand business models, markets, growth, and funding needs.
• Evaluate pitch decks and financial information for investment viability.
• Perform preliminary financial and business analyses and sector mapping.
• Prepare teasers, screening notes, and opportunity summaries for internal review.
• Support due diligence and coordinate with internal teams in early investment stages.
• Develop long-term relationships with founders and key stakeholders.

About the Role

We are looking for an Associate – Deal Investment Origination to join our investment team. The role will focus on identifying and evaluating promising investment opportunities, building relationships with founders and the startup ecosystem, and supporting the investment team through preliminary assessment and deal screening.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of startups, business models, financial analysis, market research, valuation fundamentals, and investment opportunities, along with excellent networking and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and identify high-quality investment opportunities across relevant sectors and stages.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with startup founders, entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, incubators, and ecosystem partners.
• Proactively network within the startup and investment ecosystem to generate a consistent deal pipeline.
• Conduct initial screening and evaluation of potential investment opportunities.
• Meet and interact with entrepreneurs to understand their business model, product, market opportunity, competitive positioning, growth strategy, and funding requirements.
• Evaluate pitch decks, business plans, financial information, and other investment-related materials.
• Conduct preliminary financial and business analysis of potential investments.
• Perform market research, industry analysis, competitor benchmarking, and sector mapping.
• Understand key business and financial metrics and identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Prepare investment teasers, screening notes, opportunity summaries, and presentations for internal review.
• Support senior team members in evaluating opportunities and preparing recommendations.
• Track emerging companies, market trends, sectors, and investment themes.
• Maintain a structured database/pipeline of potential investment opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal teams during the initial stages of the investment process.
• Support due diligence activities and other investment-related projects as required.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with founders and key ecosystem stakeholders.
