Job summary

Zone IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Databricks Platform Administrator to own administration, governance, reliability, security, and performance of enterprise Databricks environments. You will manage workspaces, clusters, Unity Catalog, IAM, cloud integrations, cost optimization, monitoring, automation, and L2/L3 production support.

Location: PAN India. The role requires 8+ years IT experience with hands-on Databricks expertise and strong automation skills using Terraform, Python, Shell,

Qualifications

• 8+ years IT experience with strong hands-on Databricks administration and production support.
• Expert knowledge of Databricks Workspace Administration, Unity Catalog, Clusters, Jobs/Workflows, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
• Hands-on AWS or Azure experience with IAM/RBAC, storage, networking, security, monitoring, and audit logging knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Administer Databricks workspaces across Dev, QA/UAT, and Production, including notebooks, repos, jobs, workflows, permissions, and configurations.
• Govern Unity Catalog—metastores, catalogs, schemas, external locations, storage credentials, and access controls.
• Manage cluster policies, job clusters, instance pools, libraries, runtime versions, and autoscaling.
• Monitor jobs, clusters, Spark performance, storage, audit logs, and platform costs; troubleshoot production, performance, and distributed workload issues.
• Manage secret scopes, service principals, managed identities, tokens, and credential rotation.
• Support AWS/Azure integrations covering IAM/RBAC, storage, networking, logging, monitoring, and security.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Databricks Platform Administrator to own the administration, governance, reliability, security, and performance of enterprise Databricks environments. The role involves workspace administration, cluster and job management, Unity Catalog, IAM, cloud integrations, cost optimization, monitoring, automation, and L2/L3 production support.

Location: PAN India

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Databricks workspaces across Dev, QA/UAT, and Production, including notebooks, repos, jobs, workflows, permissions, and configurations.
• Govern Unity Catalog—metastores, catalogs, schemas, external locations, storage credentials, and access controls.
• Manage cluster policies, job clusters, instance pools, libraries, runtime versions, and autoscaling.
• Monitor jobs, clusters, Spark performance, storage, audit logs, and platform costs; troubleshoot production, performance, and distributed workload issues.
• Manage secret scopes, service principals, managed identities, tokens, and credential rotation.
• Support AWS/Azure integrations covering IAM/RBAC, storage, networking, logging, monitoring, and security.
• Execute runtime upgrades, migrations, patches, platform changes, and DR validation.
• Automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform, Python, Shell, REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, and Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Lead major incident resolution, RCA, problem management, and coordination with cloud/Databricks teams.
• Drive capacity planning, platform optimization, and cost management.

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years IT experience with strong hands-on Databricks administration and production support.
• Expert knowledge of Databricks Workspace Administration, Unity Catalog, Clusters, Jobs/Workflows, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
• Hands-on AWS or Azure experience with strong IAM/RBAC, storage, networking, security, monitoring, and audit logging knowledge.
• Experience in performance tuning, capacity planning, cost optimization, and access governance.
• Strong automation skills in Terraform, Python, Shell Scripting, REST APIs, Git, and CI/CD.
• Good knowledge of SQL, PySpark execution, data pipelines, and distributed workload troubleshooting.
